Nearing Completion of Evaluation of RS system (not)

Well, as far as I know there are no $100 machines with a 2% edge (or any edge for that matter). But if you find one be sure to let me know. Oh yeah, I haven't played .25 VP in several years. Is there anything else you could possibly get wrong?

What you forget is that all of your math is based on an infinite number of plays and no player has an infinite bankroll. Arc doesn't have a bankroll for more than 25 cent games. Even Uncle Sam has a credit limit. But only VP APs seem to ignore that.

The BS meter has peaked into the red.

Yes, unfortunately for you, all the BS is coming from you and Singer.

The math isn't based on "an infinite number of plays". I know where you heard that and it is a lie. Maybe you should be checking your source. That comment is based on the fact that it takes a infinite number of hands to reach the EXACT expected return for a game. But think about that, does anyone care if they reach the exact return? If you had a 2% advantage would you care if your final result ranged between 1-3% with 99% probability? It's likely a better deal than the stock market. This is just another example of the lies Singer tells math challenged individuals like yourself.

As for my bankroll, it's just fine for the $1 OEJs game that I play. In fact, my bankroll just survived a streak of losing 9 out of 10 sessions (which ended yesterday with a $3300 win).

I think it would be a good idea to stress this point. The VP return of games in NOT based on infinite play. It's not based on any amount of play at all. The probability equations used to determine EV do not include trials as part of the calculation. Anyone that thinks or says this clearly hasn't done the calculations by hand and doesn't understand the math.

You will find references out there in cyber space made by AP's about infinite play being required. Consider these incorrect. There are only a tiny number of VP professionals out there currently that have done game return by hand, since the advent of VP trainer software. The whole using the computer as a crutch thing has had the effect of lowering comprehension on this subject. Here's a point where you'll want to listen to the old guys from the pre-computer generation.

Not once in my entire pre-vp-trainer career did I do one single equation that included "number of trials" finite, infinite or otherwise to determine game return. The return of a game is what it is even if you never play a hand.

On another forum someone asked me to elaborate on a post, I thought it might be relevant here as well.

I should say that in my metaphor, "If you have a hammer all problems become nails", The "hammer" was looking for patterns and the "all problems" was things that include randomness and have no patterns other than those we concoct in our own minds. The "become nails" was representational of trying to find patterns in random events even when doing so it not helpful.

As the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster has pointed out, it is dangerous to draw correlations when a plausible theory of causation is not present. They illustrated this best when they correctly pointed out that there is a direct inverse correlation between global climate change and the number of sea faring pirates.

You should have quit playing once you were up by $2500

Let me rephrase: the return of the game is the return of the game. It takes a player an infinite number of hands to get there. And Arc I forgot you moved up to $1 games.

Kaypea you actually understand what Singer is all about but because Singer says it you can't see it. The casinos have it figured out that even with positive paytables they will come out ahead. Do you know why?
Define systhew.
"Systhew" is the small kitten on the keyboard assisted spelling of "system".
Hi Alan. Don't tell me you read all this crap.

Frank has such an aversion to the term "system" and its negative connotations that he can't spell it properly.
If the problem is the word "system" or strategy or method use another word or phrase. How about this: you can't beat the casinos at their own games. You have to do something they don't expect. THAT is what Singer does.
I would like to point out that "systhew" is not spelled incorrectly, the "m" is merely upside down and in a different font. If you stand on your head it looks perfectly normal, of course it then spells mehtsys, which is what I meant to say anyway. If any of that seems confusing, don't worry I have a mehtsys for figuring out what I meant.
