Need help for Southwest Airline $99 - $129 - $159 deals .

Does anybody know how often Southwest Airlines runs this kind of deal, and the months they usually promote them.
They send an e-mail every Tuesday with their 'specials'.
Click on the add, use the drop down list to find your city. Click on your city.
They'll show their "deal" fares listed to certain destination cities.
Click on your destination city, and a calendar will pop up showing fares for each day in the month.
Click on a particular day to see all the flight times and fares for that date.

they have not had any really good deals in a while. I keep hoping the drop in oil prices will show up in the airfare, but so far no luck. and as long as the people are willing to pay the high-priced airfare, it will not change much. and for the most part most flights are near capacity at these high prices. I have tentatively planned 04/30-05/05, but have not booked a flight yet because of the prices. it is sad, I used to go to vegas 3-4 times a year and now I am limited to 1 or 2 because of the airfare. I check daily to see if any flash sales pop up.
What kind of prices are you looking for?
$130 from what city and do you want non-stop?
I would.
SW is probably the least expensive air fare to Nevada,IMO.
In March,I'll pay from Seattle to Las Vegas on Alaska: $260. it's a non-stop in the afternoon.
I'm just happy to get out of the rain.
Love to pay only $130!
Those were the old days.
It SHOULD come down,so keep lookin'.
Expedia,Orbitz,, et al.

I have never tried stand by.Anyone else?

Gotta keep digging.

Ditto DRSTEWART's and Dave's comments.

Standby...pretty much a thing of the past, I think.
I did it many times in the late '60s while in school, home and back. Half price.
Cheaper than Greyhound bus. Usually American or Delta, or Braniff, even TWA.
There were so many airlines flying back then, many open seats.
Called the airline (no computers back then), reserved a "standby" ticket.
Usually successful in getting on the plane.

These days when you hear an overhead call for "standby passenger Joe Blow", the guy has missed his flight and trying for another one, so he is 'standing by' in case a seat opens up (a no show passenger, etc.).
Or somebody trying to get on an earlier flight than what they have.

Southwest doesn't play with most of the discounters.
Last week I just happen to go to Kayak.com to check for air for our vacation in April. I first did mke to las the tickets were 325 pp. then I changed to ord to las and 136.70. At first I thought it was a computer glitch but I went to Book the tickets and it was true $272.40 for 2 round trip tickets non stop on United. I almost flipped. I just checked today and the tickets went up to $512.00 for 2. Glad I purchased them when I saw them and didn't wait.. Keep looking, maybe you will get lucky too.
I always check Southwest daily. Prices fluctuate. We made our reservations for April about six weeks ago and paid $252 rt from Chicago Midway. After that, we checked flexible dates and found March flightd for $152.50. We are very happy with those fares since they haven't been that low for a long time.
