Need help planning a challenging vegas trip

If you dont convert them into red meat eating alcholics with a gambling problem, then you have failed as a Las Vegas sherpa.
They are not vegans so that will make things easier.

The reason they want to go to vegas is me and my parents fault. We go all the time and tell them about all the fun we had and the cheap rooms we get because we go on sun-thurs and wit my parents being retired we can go at a moments notice. (last Aug I was having dinner on my mothers birthday on Weds and I asked her if she wanted a 3 nite stay in vegas for a present so she said yes and the following sunday we were in vegas) They think my mom has a gambling problem because she talks about all the fun me and mom have while playing slot machines. I do plan on having them play certain games like the wizard of oz machines and the hangover machines since they are heavily themed and don't require a high $ amount to play. I was thinking of taking them to the peppermill for breakfast and them maybe taking them over to the riviera and circus-circus. If they are really bold take them to the indoor skydiving.

I know there are a lot of non gaming things that we can do but I can't remember them all and was hoping for ideas from all the folks here on the forum.

WOO I believe is $3.00 a spin, if you're going for the Progressive.

..... as far as the Riv goes, I believe that their only attraction is gambling,
but they can maybe mix up a nice Shirley Temple or Roy Rodgers if you ask nicely.

We go to Vegas almost every May and November. I love the November trips because the weather is cooler and you can do some outside activities. Last year we did the tour of the Neon Boneyard and it was great. You're going to need a reservation for that and they ask for a minimum $15 donation per person. It requires a little walking, but it's pretty easy. We also did one of the afternoon cruises to Hoover Dam (LakeMeadCruses.com). That was a great couple of hours on the water - very relaxing with a running commentary along the way telling you about the wildlife and Dam construction. If they haven't been to Hoover Dam, that's a great tour too. It's awesome to stand at the bottom and look up.

Of course, you have to do the Bellagio conservatory and the fountains (especially at night).

We love going to shows - I'd highly recommend LOVE at the Mirage - you can't see that anywhere other than Vegas. If you're on a budget I've been able to get some good deals on the site Vegas4Locals for some of the lower level shows. You can also get some good discounts at great restaurants on restaurant.com - they're offering most of the $25 certificates right now for $1 (use discount code "JOY" at checkout).

Good luck with your planning.

Let them play your money and then it won't be gambling. They can donk all your money away without regret.
If your relatives are outdoorsy types, then Vegas in mid-January is an excellent time to explore the nearby state and national parks. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is a great place to explore by car, horse, bike, or foot, with the added bonus of Red Rock Casino being nearby in case you want to ditch the family.

If you're up for the drive, Death Valley has fantastic weather now so you can enjoy its sights without worrying about heat exhaustion. And if they like skiing, Mt. Charleston with all its recent snows might work as well.

Personally, I'd just tell them to meet me at the video poker machine where I've planted myself when they're done doing whatever it is they were doing.
Bellagio garden & fountains and the Cosmo chandelier bar are nice. Flamingo feed the flamingos in the garden at certain times and they give an interesting little promo talk. Big Elvis at Bills. Red rock or Valley of Fire are both beautiful and you can see them from the car if they can't walk or hike.

Cosmo has that 100 rebate going so if they lose it they can get it back.

Downtown make sure to have your pic taken in front of the money always fun and free.
Yes, why would they want VEGAS???

Here's what I would do: Drive them to the Luxor - let them get out - give them a map of the strip and have the visit all the FREE things in each casino.

Pick them up at Circus Circus - fun day for them - extra fun day for YOU!!
