Netflix

I was curious how many LVA folks have it and what various ways they have it hooked up. We were thinking about getting it, seems a pretty decent deal for 8 bucks a month. We have a WII in the LR so thats no biggie, thinking of trying to hook it up thru my galaxy tablet in the BR, does anyone else do it thru a different device other than a gaming system?

It is the wave of the future. Downloading videos on demand. Also those vending machines outside convenient stores have really put a hurt on video rental stores.
I like it to catch up on a series. I cancelled my HBO and kept Starz & Showtime. I lost interest in True Blood and didn't think it was worth the price for Boardwalk. I watched the 1st season and will catch up with Netflix.
I also did this when I missed a few episodes of Lost and 24.
Oh yeah, my friend uses his XBox/tv for his Netflix and loves it.

We like it. We do the streaming through our Wii. My daughters watch the vampire shows that way while I get 2 discs at a time and watch movies. About $20 per month. Pretty convenient as you put the disc in the mail on Monday and get a new one on Wednesday.
Due to having it, we are saying that we now have way too much entertaiment at our home. It is really good, especially if you also have Hulu.

Hey man, don't be bustin' on VHS too much. I've still have a bunch of things on tape that i'll never get rid of. I still regret selling my vinyl collection way back when.

BTW All of our dvd players are combo VHS too.
Thanks everyone else, I think I'm gonna go ahead and get it so long as I make sure I can get it to work thru my tablet.

This is pretty ironic too, I've been talking to M lately about electronic overload in our house. HA!! My solution? We'll get netflix
Best move I have made of late was getting rid of all premium channels and going with Netflix. Go with just the streaming package and use a ROKU player unless you already have a way to stream.

I like the Roku because it adjusts the picture quality on the fly rather than stops and cache. I have a 10 meg cable stream and it is just fine. I wouldn't recomend Sony for streaming. I bought one of their higher end Blu Ray players for streaming and quite frankly it sux and they never update the firmware. I also heard everything you stream using a Sony is rerouted through Sony's servers to make sure it is not bootlegged.

A word of caustion. If you buy a Roku the first time it loads Netflix you will say this sux. The picture will look horible the it ramps up and looks like it should. what it does is loads the movie in a hurry and then adjust the picture based on your connection speed.

Just try it. You will never go back to paying an arm and a leg for the bs cable is offering.

HBO has announced it will no longer sell its content on DVD at a discount to Netflix. It's unclear whether Netflix will buy the DVDs at retail prices; Netflix may just decide not to bother with HBO DVDs anymore, or buy so few that users can't rely on Netflix. Netflix also does not stream HBO content.
