Netflix

Amazon Prime just keeps getting better and better. I can't see going back to Netflix.

I have both Netflix and Prime. Netflix all of "Burn Notice" included with 8 per month subscription. Amazon Prime charges $1.99 per episode. I would go broke at that rate.

It is the wave of the future. Downloading videos on demand. Also those vending machines outside convenient stores have really put a hurt on video rental stores.

Hey man, don't be bustin' on VHS too much. I've still have a bunch of things on tape that i'll never get rid of. I still regret selling my vinyl collection way back when.

BTW All of our dvd players are combo VHS too.

Get yourself a VHS to DVD duplicator. Videotape shelf life not too good.

We bought the streaming box, ROKU and have subscriptions to Netflix and Hulu Plus. That plus what we get for free gives us plenty of options. Haven't had cable TV for two years.

HBO has announced it will no longer sell its content on DVD at a discount to Netflix. It's unclear whether Netflix will buy the DVDs at retail prices; Netflix may just decide not to bother with HBO DVDs anymore, or buy so few that users can't rely on Netflix. Netflix also does not stream HBO content.

Well, you are just a ray of sunshine every time you post.
lol

I was an enthusiastic Netflix member from the inception ... until about two years ago. Once DVDs ceased to be a relevant medium (for me), and the combination of DVR and On-Demand put more films in front of my face than I could possibly digest -- I reluctantly canceled.

Then, I acquired a ROKU. At that point, Netflix and Hulu Plus -- for about $8 a month each -- became more attractive.

On the subject of Amazon Prime ... I acquired this when I purchased a Kindle Fire. I almost never use it for streaming movies or TV programs, but I have become hopelessly addicted to the Second Day Free Shipping. (Mostly for discounted art and film books that would be diminished on the Kindle ... but now I have wandered off-topic.)

Short answer: Yes. Netflix via ROKU. Love it. I would prefer a more extensive library, but that will come.
