New and improved Twinkies

Twinkies shelf live extended to 45 days

It seems the new twinkies can last a whole 45 days on the shelf before expiring (as compared to 26 days before). I wish I would have known Twinkies had expiration dates before ingesting the 20 year old specimen I found the basement.

Don't worry about the 20 year old twinkie, pj - the only reason they put an expiration date on the package is to try and convince us that there is actually some real food in there....

The last I heard (and not seen) is that Hostess no longer is making twinkies. I haven't seen any in the stores for along time?

Twinkies make early return at Wal-Mart stores

NEW YORK (AP) -- Wal-Mart and other retailers are making Twinkies available this weekend, even though Hostess says it asked stores to wait until Monday to start selling the spongy yellow snack cakes.
