New fallout from the Online Gambling shutdown

I just tried to register for a cash poker tourney on Club WPT.com. I've been a member for years and evidently because I live in Oklahoma It won't accept me as a member. The message is, because of my local I can not play in cash tourneys. I go to upgrade my account and the drop down menu for state in your address info has eliminated Oklahoma.

It's ironic that Oklahoma is barred yet, we have a casino on every corner. I was using these tourneys as my methadone fix to keep from going to the casinos. I wasn't getting rich playing on line but I was covering my 20 bucks a month dues and enjoying the tourney play. Any one else playing on Club Wpt.?
Here is the e-mail I just recieved from Club WPT.

Dear ClubWPT Player:

Thank you for your membership in ClubWPT. Unfortunately, residents of Oklahoma are no longer eligible to participate in the online sweepstakes associated with ClubWPT.

Effective immediately, we will be converting your paid VIP membership in ClubWPT to a free Basic membership, and you will no longer be charged a ClubWPT membership fee. Please note that you are still eligible to claim any prizes you have won prior to today. However, you must claim any unclaimed prizes no later than July 31, 2011. We appreciate your support of ClubWPT and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Sincerely,
ClubWPT

I belong to NLOP, $19.95/month with cash and prize tourneys.
Check it out. I tried to attach a link, but it wasn't working.
Just go to NLOP.com and there is a download on the top tool bar.
There are several training software packages available. It's not the same thing, no real prizes and no real opponents, but the training bots are quite good; it's pretty realistic.

Thanks for the info. Chipchick, I tried NLOP after you had mentioned it in another post and they won't accept players from Oklahoma. Mrmarcus I've played some Poker simulation, It is good for honing the skills, It's just not the same, I don't get the same buzz. Wife and I have discussed my going back into the brick and mortar casinos. The problem is with my local casino the poker room is boring, the regulars, we all know each others style of play. My favorite table game is Ultimate texas hold em. Where you play heads up with the dealer. I have a money management issue when I gamble. The VP pay tables here are horrible so rule out VP. By the way another poster on another forum said Clubwpt aren't accepting players from Missisippi either.
Perhaps you have family, or friends, living in a state where it is legal? Perhaps they would register you using their address? Perhaps you would be allowed to play while "visiting" Oklahoma? Perhaps you could set up a proxy to access the site so your ISP is hidden? Perhaps that would be interpreted as breaking the law. :::shrug:::
