New gambling shows on the Discovery Channel tonight.

As noted by Vegas Chatter, the Discovery Channel will have some new and old shows on tonight. Here's the link to their article.

Vegas Chatter
"Update: These shows only air once (no reruns are planed [sic]) according to TiVo so prepare your DVR's accordingly."
Ref: Vegas Chatter

Of course there's no plans beyond tonight. Tomorrow is September 11th. DonDiego recommends everyone pack as much living into today as possible, . . . within reason.
Everything starts at 7PM if you live in the Central time zone.
OOPs, didn't see this thread, glad someone got to it earlier than moi.

Didn't see this thread in time. Even though reruns are currently planned, no doubt there will be two billion reruns. \,,/ \,,/
Was not impressed...no mention of VP at all and they really pushed roulette.
I think the casinos sponsored these.
Yeah, they turned out to be a bit lame. Good for a Vegas fix though.

Especially the one about how to beat the house.
They even made a big deal about picking slot machines in the high traffic areas.
Really...I'm shocked, shocked. How old is that one? LOL

I fell asleep during the second episode.

DonDiego concurs. The first show discussing the casino advantage and how to "beat the house" was a decent introduction to the topic. And the little quiz after each exposition on how to apply the techniques was educational.

DonDiego detected one distinct error, however. After a reasonable presentation about the house edge and setting the house edge on individual slot machines, the little quiz posited that all-else-equal one should play the machine with the higher jackpot. This might be accurate on a progressive jackpot, but the example was non-progressive machines, one with a $400 jackpot and another with a $4000 jackpot. Without knowing the house edge on each machine one doesn't know which machine is "better", . . . and it is reasonable to assume one is less likely to hit the $4000 jackpot than the $400 one.

DonDiego also found himself dozing off during the second show, in spite of the presence of Anthony Curtis. It was just too-o-o-o, . . . z-z-z-z-z-z-z-z.
