The new health care law, how's it working??

I went into the hospital on the 4th of November due to a problem with an ulcer and my gall bladder. (the gall bladder lost the fight and was removed.) Over all stay was almost 2 weeks including time spent in rehab. Ms. Lohan was nowhere near my location, so it was nice and quiet.

Since I am unemployed, I figured that under the new and improved health care system, my bills would be covered by our ever watchfull federal government. Boy was I mistaken:

Doctors bills range from $100 to $1400. All but 1 of the 5 were for $1400.00.
Hospital stay and room fees: $100,000.00

So where was the improvement, or did I miss something?????

What made you think unemployed got you free medical care?

According to Obama the first, the government is supposed to take care of folks that can't afford to do so. How do you think all of those illegal aliens get their health care?

The same way you did.

I knew that I would get the medical care, as for actually paying for it was going to be the issue.

Negotiate the bill. Insurance companies only pay about 15% of the total and the hospitals accept that.

Oh, more importantly, I hope you feel better.

I couldn't afford insurance, so I'm paying for the bill out of pocket. I have applied and got some relief from a state program which wiped out a good chunk of the hospital bill. (doctors bills NOT included)

I'm ok physically, I have one 6" scar on my tummy. Other than that and getting my blood pressure meds under control, I'm good.
