No SAMCRO?
There is hardly anything new I want to watch. Unfortunately the major networks start these things up in late September and then preempt them for sporting events or something else. They then move them to another night and then preempt them again and start playing them next year.

There are many past successful shows that would have never made it, if they had to go through what the networks do today.

I do want to watch Pan-Am. I was a very young boy, when I can remember I would have to dress up to go fly. I also remember at LAX where one didn't have to go through metal detectors.

I would think the producers of Pan Am can have a lot of fun with this. They can almost make it like a fantasy. I would have the following on the show:

1. Young attractive stewardesses
2. All passengers are dressed nicely
3. Everybody is called "Sir" or "Ma'am"
4. The legroom in coach is unbelievable
5. The meals in coach include filet mignon
6. No long lines, overbooked flights, metal detectors, body scanners, etc.

That would mean it would have to run on the syfy channel

I don't know about serving filet mignon, but at one time travel had all of the other items I listed.

You forgot about the smoking and the free booze.
Its still free booze in first class. I don't recall it ever being free in steerage.

I did forget about smoking (the full airplane).

In recent times I had a flight on Continental to San Jose from Los Angeles. I got bumped up to first class, which only had two rows on this airplane (DC 9). This was when there were smoking and non-smoking sections. The first row was smoking and the second row was non-smoking. Across the aisle I watched the person in Row 2 ask both people in Row 1 if they would switch so that he could smoke. Both people refused.

It is still free in first class, but many airlines on domestic flights are not offering alcohol before takeoff. The food in first class has gone downhill too, but at least you have the much bigger seat and the leg room.
Last time I flew First Class from JFK to Vegas, it was a morning flight and they gave us cream cheese on a bagel, with a packet of jelly on the side. About three hours later, they came by with brownies, but they didn't have any extras. It was one per person. Now I fly Jet Blue. I do miss the hot towels, though.
