New virus threat

So AVG nailed the virus and you're still gonna whine about it, doc? What's wrong, you don't have any immigrants and unemployed folks to hammer on today?
melonhead- I mentioned the virus so that the reasonable, logical thinking people who visit this site could be forewarned. The message was not posted for you.
Is this fixed yet? I'd like to read this month's newsletter but am afraid to "go in the water" so to speak. It is Shark Week afterall.

Thanks.

Cheers,
Deanna

Actually that's what I do too, Only have the forums booked. I only check on the homepage if I have a trip coming up, I don't have much need for what comics are coming to town or the 15 is closed for construction or whatever. If there's anything really newsworthy I'll hear it on the news or here or the other LVA bd.

I've had no problem getting in today. No virus warnings!
Some of those viruses get so intertwined in windows your best bet is to just reinstall windows. Most modern PCs have a factory image on the drive so reinstalling your OS isn't hard just start the process before you go to bed so it can run when you are sleeping and you should be in good shape.

Hey Mal, is there a step by step guide for idiots as to how to do exactly that? You know, just in case there's
someone on here who could use the help

JOHN
My best advice is to type in your computer brand and the model number into Google along with phrases like reinstall factory image. It is a bit different on each brand for instance on my Toshiba I have to hold down the power button and the 0 key to get the menu that allows me to do that. On other machines you have to hold down one the function keys when the computer boots.
Ruh-Roh. Trouble a brewin'

When I try to access LVA thru google, I get this:

"Visiting this website may harm your computer"

I snuck in thru Bing.
