Newest hotels/casinos in Vegas

I'm doing a little research for an upcoming trip, and I haven't been to ANY of the hotels in this Top 5 list. Also haven't been to the Wynn, so throw that into the mix.

Top 5 newest hotels

Is there any reason to go to these? Anything cool I should see or do there?

Danke
Cosmo...the big crystal chandelier/bar.

Vdara...beautiful lobby.

Tropicana...a hint of old Vegas, especially if they left the stained glass over the pit when they renovated. But it might be gone now.

Aria...nothing.

Encore...nothing. Wynn is more interesting with the shops.

Vdara is only a hotel and not a casino.

The Trop still has the stained glass, but it still looks small and old compared to today's big resorts.

The Cosmo is a must see, but be sure to go at night.
I guess we can all remember when Vegas was throwing up hotels as fast as they could in the late 80's to well into the 2000's. And each time it seemed that each one would break the record for the most rooms until the MGM ended that discussion.

Vdara will give you the best bang for the buck. Rooms are frequently cheaper than Aria and you get lots more space. They were meant to be time share condos originally so you get the kitchen and living room and all that stuff. Its a nice quiet oasis in the middle of the strip. You just have to walk a little farther to get to things.

I love the Tropicana but the refresh amounted to putting lipstick on a pig. Its much nicer than before but thats not saying much. The room floorplans are dated and small. You can stay there now without getting a Staff infection and thats a good thing. but they are charging too much for what you get.
