how many of us go to Las Vegas just for the gambling? If it was just about the gambling, I can drive to several casinos, but I still try to go to vegas a couple of times a year. Whoever wrtoe this crap seems to think that people who now go to Vegas will just stop going when they realize they can drive to a casino or fire up their laptop to gamble.

Vegas is soooo much more than gambling.
Thanks for putting things back into perspective Karen <3

I went to AC for the first time this past summer. I could not believe how not busy it was. I'm assuming it is even more so during the winter. Vegas has a lot more to offer and I expect it will survive just fine. Not so sure about AC. Lets check back in 5 years and see what is left standing.

I've never been to AC, but my family has told me that outside of the casino areas, the town is really run down. Not exactly what the casino owners promised would happen when gambling was legalized there.
I agree, Vegas really is so much more than gambling, the last few times we've gone I havent really gambled that much. Well, that is for me anyway, because theres definitely been some trips ive gambled a majority of my time at the tables. Ive had fun bothways.

Also,if anyone noticed what I said in the MGM project thread, I even mentioned how weve never been to any local places even tho ther only an hour and change away, there just not Vegas.

Vegas might wind up being the "food capital" of the world soon. I gamble all over, but there is still something about Vegas that makes it special!

I love Vegas. It is 6 hours by plane, with the cost of tickets, then the cost of rental car. Atlantic City is 6 hours away by car, only a tank of gas each way, so it's a lot cheaper. Atlantic city has not much to offer other than gambling and the ability to casino hop if you choose. I get free rooms at both locations.

I live 1.5 hours away from Foxwoods and Mohegan, have never gotten a room offer from either of them, so I only do day trips. Once Massachusetts finally decides who is getting the casino licenses, I will probably never visit either place again.

Vegas remains #1 for our vacations.
