The next time you go swimming in a public pool (that includes Vegas) you may want to think about this.

One in five people have admitted to peeing in the pool.

In addition:

11% of participants admit to swimming with a runny nose

-- 43% said they skipped taking a shower before swimming

-- 6% admitted to swimming with a cold

-- But less than 1% admitted to swimming while ill with diarrhea.

That's right. It's best to just have a cocktail and enjoy the pool rather than to have microbiological thoughts.

And what a healthy immune system is for.

You have to be pretty ill to not be able to fight off the sorts of pathogens common in even a poorly-maintained public pool. If a bout of diarrhea might kill you, sure, stay out. But beyond that, you'll almost certainly be fine.

Fear fear fear fear fear . . . .

Do you think those twenty somethings want to go get rid of that beer they drank and give up their spot in the pool? Of course not.
At least there is chlorine to help battle the bacteria. No so on those machine buttons, being pushed by all those who use the bathrooms and walk right out without washing their hands!!!! It's a wonder that there isn't more E-coli infections in those who play machines!
Look at it this way- would you knowingly swim in a public toilet? That is just what you are doing when you enter and swim in a public pool. Think about it....
Mirage pool(where I most often swim) is about 1/2 million gallons. I think a few milliliters of snot, body sweat, body fluids, etc. will be pretty diluted.
Its not something that normally bothers me..but when the pools get really packed its kinda gross. Your body instinctively wants to pee when you go into the water. Not everyone holds back. And drunk people have even less discipline and more urine. If I see 50 people in a public pool I tend to stay away.

But how many people have skinny dipped?
