NFL Dilemma

The Bills are scheduled to play a home game this week against the Jets. As many of you may have noticed Buffalo has 6 feet of snow on the ground. Gov Cuomo has said playing the game is impractical. The Bills have not practiced all week (but how much is needed to play the Jets?)

The Giants have the Sunday night game at the Meadowlands so playing there is a problem. Yankee stadium can be configured for football.

Maybe there will be 2 Monday night games or will they play Tuesday.

The Bills need the game as they are a playoff contender or the Jets could forfeit

It seems to me that the Jets forfeit most games anyway.

A few years ago they moved a game to Detroit due to special circumstances. They could do it again since the Lions are at New England.
Have they ever moved a game due to a little snow? Let's not start now. Get some Snow Shovelers in there and Play Ball!

They may not be able to get to the stadium. I believe roads are still uncleared from the last blast...and Buffalo is getting another 2 feet today. Perhaps there will be three games on Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving games are part of next week's schedule. They would have to play by Tuesday.

Moving 6 feet of snow may be impossible. Roads are closed limiting ways to get trucks and people to the stadium. Diverting trucks and personnel to the stadium while people can't get out of their homes would be a pr disaster.

If they can get people to do it, they have to shovel the rows and push the snow into the aisles and then push the snow to the bottom, where it will pile up for a lot of rows. The snow would then have to be pushed from the upper deck to the lower deck & then removed from the stadium. This is in addition to the 6 feet of snow sitting on the field that has to be removed
I had heard that they put out a plea to the residents of Buffalo. They offered volunteers $10 per hour to shovel snow and a free game ticket. Of course some of your shovelers are going to be virtually useless and slow as a snail. This was only for the stadium. If the roads can't be cleared then the NFL needs to see if they can delay the game.
PUSSIES !

The Bills, or the City of Buffalo (it's unclear to poor old DonDiego), is offering anyone who wishes to shovel Ralph Wilson Stadium clear of snow $10-per-hour and a free ticket to the game.
The management at Ralph Wilson Stadium is hoping for a . . . large army of about 500 volunteers to come help. Giving away that many tickets isn't likely to be a problem.

My sister lives in the Northern Suburbs. She says you can draw a line through the city. Everything north of the line was untouched and you can see the grass in the yard. Everything south of the line is buried in 6 feet of snow drifts. The stadium is about 15 minutes southeast of the city....and its in the buried part. I wonder if they could consider Toronto as a venue.

ESPN is reporting that the game may be moved. Detroit is one of the options.
