NFL Schedule 2014-15

Oh my it can't be true one of Don Diego's favorite activities is watching a bunch of union thugs play sports ball from the comfort of his seat in a taxpayer funded stadium. Oh the horror!
Schedules are out. Unlike past seasons, the Super Bowl contenders are not the opening game. The Seahawks play the Packers instead.

Indeed it is true ! But malibber2 needn't concern himself with DonDiego's well-being.

DonDiego is a member of one of the coarsest fan bases to be found outside of Great Britain, . . . that of the Eagles of the City of Brotherly Love.

Union thugs need love too.
And occasionally, . . . most notably in Green Bay, Wisconsin, . . . the seats are not comfortable.
Ahh, . . . DonDiego loves the taxpayers of NFL cities for their benevolence; fortunately DonDiego contributes no local direct taxes to construction/maintenance/operation of NFL or other sports stadia.
[For the record, DonDiego has little argument with State and local tax-administration, . . . other than that there is often waste; if DonDiego has a significant objection he is able to relocate to another State. Unfortunately the Federal tax monies are extraordinarily wasted and inescapable; although DonDiego is hearing good things about Puerto Rico lately.]

And DonDiego likes to accompany his visits to NFL cities with copious quantities of locally brewed craft beers before, during, and after the games.

Huh?

The Ravens didn't start last season against the Niners.

The Giants didn't start the prior season against the Patriots.

The Packers didn't start the prior season against the Steelers.

The Saints didn't start the prior season against the Colts.

I can't remember the prior Super Bowl contenders starting the next season against one another. It's definitely not recent practice.

Hmm, even tho the Steelers have been medicore the past two seasons they still get the max 5 nighttime kickoffs. Kinda sucks, I like watching football on Sunday afternoons. Nightgames aren't nearly as appealing as they once were...DAMN..just dawned on me why it sucks, means I'm getting old(er) and don't like staying up late to watch! Oh well, I'll just have to make sure and have a super power nap earlier in the day.Like I said, sucks, used to be really stoked at nightgames

You are right. It is the Super Bowl Winner who debuts in the opening game for the NFL, usually at home. Of course Baltimore had a conflict with the Orioles and had to play on the road for the opening game.

The Jets/Giants stadium is paid for by season ticket holders via seat licensing fees. I believe the new Niner stadium will be funded in a similiar fashion.

The NFL union is one of the weaker pro sports union.

I watch very little night football. By the time the 2nd half starts on the east coast it is pushing 11pm; I get up at 6am

The Steelers only have one game on their regular schedule where they have to travel out of their time zone. That game is with Tennessee and is only a one hour difference. They got the best deal.

The Raiders probably got the most brutal schedule, which isn't fair because the Raiders have been horrible the past decade. They have had only one year where they reached .500.

I didn't really notice about the Steelers traveling, just the easy schedule, well it looks easy anyway.Hmmm, maybe they can get back in the playoffs, they have quite a few holes/areas to fill.

Poor Vikings record last year gets them 14 out of 16 games with a noon central time start. All games in either the central or eastern time zone this year. Besides the 6 division games, they play the NFC south, AFC east, with St. Louis and Washington as uncommon division opponents. The Packers get Seattle and Philadelphia as their uncommon division opponents. Looking forward to the NFL season already!!
