You read my mind. We are on football countdown too. I have a friend that just says she will see me after football season. She doesn't even bother to call me during that time. Ugh, and the Browns suck bad enough without throwing damn Johnny Football in the mix. My blood already boiled at the sound of that name and then he goes to "my team" if I can continue to call the Browns that....I usually get laughed at for asking for a tv, so more than not, we don't even bother to try to watch. I desperately need a new team to love.

Two words...Pittsburgh Steelers although I highly doubt you'll take up the offer being a Browns fan and all.

Manziel was/is a joke, I couldn't help but laugh when the Browns picked him. Honestly? I kinda feel for the Browns, it was such a great rivalry for so long and they've become somewhat of a joke. I do wish they would return(somewhat) to there former selves.
Aren't the Baltimore Ravens the "real" Cleveland Browns?

Yes. Art Modell up and moved the team in the middle of the night. I was prtty shocked, I'm sure not as much as the fans of Cleveland were but shocked nonetheless.
It was the colts who did the midnight move to Indy, but the Ravens are the original Browns.

The Browns did it also.
I hear you about wanting the Browns to be a rival again...it was kind of the same with Michigan/OSU. It seems the tide is turning on the Big Ten. Won all of our bowl games last year and against the SEC....some kind of crazy. I had us maybe winning 2 games after that Virginia Tech debacle. It wasn't the injured qb, but rather the d line that lost that game, so imagine my surprise with our season and a national championship. I was still in mourning for Tressel, but Urban surely won the last fans over....not to say, I didn't like him. But Tressel was/is very beloved.

Yes, Moddell uprooting the Browns was a HUGE deal. That is the really odd thing about Ohio/Cleveland pro sports. Something is amiss up there. The Browns, like OSU, is a money maker and HUGE fan base even at this laughable level. Same with LeBron and not bringing home the deal. Not sure what the "curse" or management issues or some kind of strategic motives in the failing of these brands. The Bengals do not exist in Ohio except down south and to bandwagoners when they have a mediocre season. The true star of our state is of course, the Buckeyes. Maybe that is why they don't let any pro teams become high level. Will be interested to see if LeBron can get the job done before he retires in Cleveland. Now, the decision, was also a huge betrayal. But all is forgiven. I get why he left, but the tv show was not needed. He is truly a loyal hometown boy. That is respectable. Just watched "More than a game" last night....recommend. It is his high school documentary.

But back to the real problem....I desperately need to fall in love with an nfl team and have tried several times...to no avail. I almost (almost) kind of like just watching the game of the week right now, but still not like tuning in to care about a game. If Vegas could get a team, my life would be complete. I root for any pro sport to break the seal. With the hockey talk being the closest, and while I hate soccer, I think that would be their smartest move. Soccer is not a power sport in America anyway and the international demographic here would be a good place to start.
The Browns announced the move in November 95, when the team was 4-4. After the announcement they only won 1 more game. Moving a great franchise like this only felt like it was in the middle of the night.

Modell and the city were fighting back and forth for a while ,with Modell threatening to move the team the whole time and the city thinking he would never do it. In the end, as we all know, Modell moved the team to Balt. When they did the physical move it was in the middle of the night, gotta remember there were LOTS of pissed off brown fans. I remember following the whole thing being a Steeler fan, I never thought he'd actually move the team, I really didn't. I was a member of an online Steeler forum and there were manmy brown fans who posted there and I remember all the name calling when they left in the middle of the night. That would've been the shock equivalent if the Steelers leaving Pit., it just couldn't happen(or so the brown fans thought).
It may be a medium or long shot, but my money is on the crimsonepidermics.
