NHP Cracks Down On Speeders heading to Vegas

Crackdown on Speeders

I have to admit...I may have exceeded the posted speed limit on I15 from the border to Vegas a few times...well maybe a few dozen. I've driven it when there was no speed limit and when the limit was 55. I think 80 would be about right.
I've noticed in my many trips to Vegas that they like to sit on the median between the guardrails and wait for speeders. You can tell when they are coming up by the blue reflectors near the guard rail. This alerts the NHP that there is an opening in the guardrail in case they need to turn around.
What a bunch of Hogwash. I drive over from SoCal 8 to 10 times a year. Only the clueless and unaware are getting pulled over. I see a lot of drivers get pulled over and it's all for speeding. Pay attention and you can drive however you like.
My last speeding ticket in Nevada (knock on wood) was over 20 years ago. I had received a ticket in California the trip before (definite speeding), so I set my cruise control to 3 mph above the speed limit. I had a heavy set sheriff pull me over where the Jean offramp was. I admitted to him that I was slightly over the speed limit, but that it was only 3 mph. He claimed it was 5 and still gave me the ticket.

He said that I could pay the fine right there, which made me very suspicious, but I later found out that Nevada has a law (at least back then) where you could pay your tickets on the spot and not have to wait for a bill to be sent to you.

Maybe the NHP can stop speeding but they cant stop NPH.

Good.
I've never gotten a ticket for anything in Nevada! Hope it stays that way!

Yep, that is pretty close. I also meant to add he was similar to the stereotype you see for country sheriffs.
