Just curious ........ Who is they / them ?

Rick

Management. I told them what was wrong ( in my opinion) with the way the company was being run and all the bullshit I've put up with for the last few years. Told them why the dealers ran like rats to the new casino a few years ago too. I'm not going to get into the details of what they were, but like I said, I told them the truth. I didn't name names so I wouldn't sound like I'm trying to target a few people, but I said that they should look closer on how employees in our department are treated.

Hope all goes well in the new line of work. SOunds like it will be more fun anyway.

I understand that dealers are not allowed to be players at casino tables while they are employed as dealers. How about after they resign?

I can go back in 30 days. It will be a lot longer than that for me though.

We spend so much time making a living that we sometimes forget to have a life. Looks like you found your life. Good luck.

Well what I meant was, what casino (company) treated you so poorly ?

Rick

Good Luck in your future businesses. I hope you find happiness and enjoyment now in life.

I don't want to say it on the board, but it's one in the St. Louis area. I'll send you a PM.

Please, anyone that knows where I worked, don't post the name here.

Ray
I have been in the Saint Louis area and know that there are a couple of casinos that dont seem to treat the employees right. Very strict standards for appearance as well as some of the crap you guys have to put up with some of the crazy customers up there.

I lived in Missouri for a couple of years ( Fort Leonardwood, MO) and went often to play up in Saint Louis.

Sorry to hear that 17 years were invested in that job, but good that you are now doing what you like to do.

Best of luck---

P.S.- I will try not to meet you in jail... HA HA!!!!!!!!
Best of luck to you Ray. My family has had a rest/bar for 40+yrs. and we have a few promoters that do similar things.
Trivia is always a good one. Local trivia is a huge hit for us, it gets all the locals in. Another fun one, we have a band or dj at night and everytime there is a break, the promoters will do a "Let's Make a Deal" type announcement, as in who has a XXXX with them? Some of the things they come up with are pretty good. It has actually gotten some to come in costume hoping there may be a big door to bid on. There will be one at the end of summer.
We also have a huge site with bar pics being posted live, ppl just love to see themselves.
lol
p.s. we can not give away cash, we give food & drink coupons.
Welcome to life. It would be great if everyone could work for the companies that perennially make the "Best Companies to Work For" list, but a very small percentage get to. I'm assuming the company you work for paid you what they promised and didn't give you lashes when you screwed up on the job.

What did you do to distinguish yourself from all the rest of the employees? Did you always have the sharpest looking uniform? Did you provide the friendliest customer service in the company? Were you always looking after the needs of management often times at the expense of your needs?

In this economy many people have lost their jobs. Here's a little secret. None of them had to. If their company had asked them to meet 100% of their duties as outlined by management, but instead they exceeded expectations by 20, 50, or even 100% there is no way management can let them go. They've made themselves too valuable to the company. They've made themselves so valuable that in short order they're getting nice raises and moving up the company ladder.
