No, I just hate those that want to prejudge other’s morality while dismissing their own actual lapses in morality as a simple case of having a wide stance.

But my real purpose was just pointing out the OP's logical flaw here: A is a pervert. Therefore all (or most) A's are perverts. It's called a Hasty Generalization.

Republican logic: There are no reported incidents of Ts committing crimes against children in public restrooms. Therefore, we must convene a special session of the legislature to pass a law to protect children from Ts because all Ts want to harm children. Furthermore, even though there are reported incidents of R's committing crimes against children in public restrooms, we must do nothing to protect the children from Rs.
Just because they try to stereotype people for their own political ends doesn't make it right or mean you have to.

But Alan they aren't just engaging in some harmless stereotyping. They have actually implemented a law to deny people their civil rights based upon stereotyping. Not to mention they are willing to inflict 100s of millions of dollars of economic damage to the entire state to force others to accept their stereotypical way of thinking. Poor malibber just points out if people would apply the same type of logic to prejudge the people that passed this law, the people that passed the law probably wouldn't like the outcome.

Stereotyping is rarely harmless. Yours or theirs. It seems vindictive and small minded regardless of the R or D and it prevents any real discussion. But I do agree that there's a certain karma in these Republican sex scandals and we'd all be better off if they kept their moralizing to their own families rather than imposing it on others.

Oh come on Mally. You complain about anyone taking a moral stance on anything.

Seems if we're going to lump all Republican Men into the pervert category, we might as well add all School Teachers and Then Union Members too. Let's not forget he was born, raised and worked in Illinois. That would make the entire state suspect. And don't get me going on the mostly Democrat Roman Catholic Priests....They're the worst of the lot.
Oh you forgot mammals and multi-cellular organisms.

But here's the thing. Public school teachers aren't known for condemning the sexual activity of others. Neither are union members. And neither are citizens of Illinois, mammals, or multi-cellular organisms.

But Republicans like Denny Hastert are known for judging and legislating against the sexual behavior of others. That's what makes the Republican part of his bio so special.

I would have thought that would be obvious.
Right. It's not like Public School Teachers or Catholic Priests should have morals...
Wow, that's incredibly dishonest, even by your standards. Having morals is not the same as being a scolding moralist. Frequently it's the opposite, isn't it?

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John wrote books about moralists without morals. They were called Pharisees.

Have you completely lost touch with reality? Are you really claiming Catholic Priests aren't moralists? Dude, that's part of their job description. Perhaps you should try scheduling a gay wedding in a Catholic Church.

Which makes it that much more egregious when a priest F@cks an altar boy. Your comparison of the Catholic church and Evangelical leaders in Congress is dead-on-balls accurate. Pun intended.

And Public School teachers aren't known for preaching against the gay community. Anyone who does likely will lose their job in most districts.

And while Public School Teachers aren't known for preaching against the gay community we were talking about child molestation...and for a Teacher to rape the students he is entrusted to teach may be the most egregious of all.

But regardless of Forkush's efforts to make it so, none of this was my real point. I was merely pointing out how it's wrong to associate many, most or all Republicans with Child Molesters. Just like we shouldn't stereotype Public School Teachers, Catholic Priests, Union Members or Illinois Residents.

No I'm not. I was simply pointing out that there is a difference between having morals and being a scolding moralist. Anyone who conflates the two is dishonest. Now go look in the mirror.
