Not Since 1963 (baseball-related)

For only the second time in modern major league history (and the first since 1963) has a game been played in which the only players with more than one hit were the two starting pitchers.

Nothing earth shattering, just kind of freaky.
Michael Kay said something during yesterday's Yankees game that Saturday was the first time there were four 1-0 games in a long time. I forget how long.

It's the year of the pitcher.

This would never happen in the American League!
I saw the box score yesterday, but didn't realize how rare it was. The Cubs pitcher Woods also hit a homerun in that game

When I was a kid I was at a game when the pitcher did quite a bit better than that. In the only game I ever saw at Candlestick, Atlanta pitcher Tony Cloninger hit two grand slams.
