At the risk of stirring up a hornet's nest, I did not have any problems getting comp rooms at the Palazzo for either of the trips I've made so far in 2011 and I have a third already booked. I did wait a few weeks for the ruckus to die down after that debacle with the last minute pulling of comps from some of their players before I called my host to book any of my trips. It was an absolutely horrible situation for those who were caught in the mess and I totally understand their anger at the situation! However, that practice seemed to last for only a few weeks before it stopped. For the record, I'm FAR from a whale, which some posters here have suggested are the only ones still getting any comps. I barely squeaked into the Gold card level for the 1st time ever on my last trip in 2010 - but that was due to making more visits than usual last year, (all of which were comps at Palazzo/Venetian), and a few of those were winning trips as well so I played with their money quite a lot, instead of my own small budgets.
The whole knee-jerk reaction that Sheldon had to those quarterly earnings reports earlier in the year was short lived. Under the revamped Grazie program offers may not be as generous as they once were for everyone (regardless of being a big or small gambler), but they are still there and have been for a few months. It's not really a sudden change. Just my opinion, based on conversations with my host and what I have seen first hand, but it seems like they are putting their player rating reviews into use and have now scaled back or stopped some people's offers based on the results of those reviews.
