Now What's Up With Gas Prices?

What are the oil companies excuse for the dramatic rise in gas prices lately?

Went to fill up yesterday and I looked at the price and couldn't believe it was back up to $4 a gallon. Just last week at the same station(ARCO) the price was .30c lower and the week before that it was around 3.599 a gallon. How can they possibly justify raising prices this steep for no apparent reason. Is this happening in your area? I can understand them losing gas sales because of all the snow storms and people not driving, but that should give them a surplus of fuel not a shortage. Besides, we don't have snow storms in Calif.

And while I'm venting, what right does our government have to give the Ukraine a BILLION DOLLARS in aide? There are plenty of people in the USA who are starving and don't have a roof over their heads!

Oil prices are rising due to the Ukraine-Russia mess. They're not only getting your tax dollars, they're also costing you more when you fill up at the pump.

...But it's the conversion to the summer fuel formula that is the biggest reason for rising prices.

"That always causes a spike in prices by mid-March," said Cynthia Harris of AAA. "That will be happening."

New rules from the EPA will make gasoline better for the environment but worse for your wallet.

The Environmental Protection Agency is putting these new rules in place today to cut sulfur from gas 67 percent by 2017, or about 10 parts per million from 30 parts per million as it is today.

Oil refiners are fighting the new rules, complaining that this will force them to install new sulfur-cleaning equipment that will cost them a lot of money. Supporters say the new rules are the most significant public health achievement of President Obama's second term.

Bottom line - the EPA predicts gas prices will go up two-thirds of a cent per gallon, and new cars will cost an additional $75.

the "money" we are giving to the Ukraine will mostly end up in the hands of the Russians anyway! So lets just finance Putin to keep fu*king with us any way he sees fit.

The U.S. is not "giving" any money to Ukraine. We are guaranteeing the IMF and other loans to them. So, when they default on those loans THEN we will be paying the billions. Plus penalties and interest.

The US is not giving Ukraine a billion dollars in aid. Whoever told you that figured you're stupid and lied to you in hopes of making you angry, confused, and easier to manipulate.

Oh, and it's just "Ukraine", not "The Ukraine". But of course knowing that would require, well, knowing stuff.
