Heroin, cocaine, crack cocaine, black tar, bath salts, and yes, alcohol.
They burned all bridges. Sucked family dry, mooched, stole, drugs become their friend.
Small hits for a few dollars. Numbs hunger, no need to eat.
Brain damage with every hit, cummulative. You can't save them.
They have to want saving and want it bad. Relapse is a certainty.
A life of pure hell, the drug is king. Go figure.

I think mental problems are probably a big factor in here too Candy. I would say probably half of the bums I've evr met are the whacked out types, from mildly to outright "get the F away from this guy right now" he's nuts, types. But drugs seem to always come into to play in the end I believe, but I'm no expert by any means.

Unless this picture was taken at the moment he started, it might be photoshopped. I don't see any puddle accumulated on the ground.
