NYC Proposes Ban On Sale Of Oversized Sodas

Can they still buy oversized Snickers bars?

This is great...government is responsible if I get fat.

Now there will be 2 cups, 2 straws and 2 lids in the landfill dump. Brilliant ! (??????????????)

No there won't, because the next thing is that they will start charging you extra $$ for the cups, lids and straws,

................ or you will have to bring your own "recyclable" cups, lids and straws from home,

........................... just like people now do with bags in the supermarkets.

In 100 years people will look back and think how crazy we were to have all this disposable stuff.

The Zombies.

Zombies only recycle body parts.
In local NYC news, bloomberg officially celebrated National Donut Day last Friday and was spotted getting a sandwich with extra mayo this past weekend
And now Disney is banning fast food advertising on its kids shows.

There is a difference.

The Walt Disney Company is a business which may choose to provide or not to provide whatever goods and services it wishes. And which citizens may choose to patronize or not patronize as they wish.

The City of New York is a Government entity which can impose non-voluntary taxes and regulations the enforcement of which can involve fines and incarceration. Citizens must obey or suffer the consequences.

A primary reason for purchasing a firearm is so that one need no longer pee one's pants.

Armor piercing bullets are likely not the appropriate choice for civil disobedience. A hollow-point round of medium caliber, . . . say 9mm through .38Special, or even .40 caliber . . . is the better choice for close work with a handgun. And a .223 full-metal-jacket ball rifle round is likely sufficient for greater distances and even penetrating light personal armor.
[n.b. Hollow-point rounds are not legal under the commonly accepted rules of war. DonDiego counsels anyone contemplating their use to search their conscience first.]

But back to the original issue: Why would anyone want to impose a limitation on how much of a perfectly legal beverage someone else may buy? DonDiego is very unlikely to ever choose to purchase a 44-ounce beverage within the jurisdiction of the City of New York. But DonDiego does not wish to limit anyone else's freedom, nor his own.
Why stop at soda, why not outlaw 3000 calorie burgers, huge ice cream sundaes...The funny thing is, NYC isn't that far from NJ or CT, so if they can't buy it in the city and really really want it..then they'll take a train to the border and purchase it there.

This isn't much different than the smoking ban was when it started, which in all honesty is a good thing.
