Obama legacy suffers a huge blow!

After running up the largest deficits in history, obama has brought the deficits down to levels that are still above President Bush. obama's deficits exceed all other presidents combined. A key factor in bringing down the deficit were the obamacare taxes that took effect before the expenses kick in. Now the obamacare expenses are coming in higher than anticipated the deficits are going back up.

I don't think hoops understands the meaning of that word.

DonDiego would still like to see Government spending fall.
__He opines that the US might be risking a serious escalation in the Syrian conflict, . . . and that the US may be on the wrong side of that "war" to begin with. He'd like to see the US extricate itself.
__He recognizes there is some need for "infrastructure spending"; f'rinstance, lots of bridges and roadways are in need of oft-neglected maintenance. He hopes President Trump can pay for it without massive tax increases. [As DonDiego understands it, President Trump would like to incentivize the return of US corporate profits presently held overseas to avoid excessive US taxation to pay for much of these expenditures.]
__He would like to see less Government involvement in "healthcare"; his hopes are not high that this can/will be done. People like "free" stuff no matter what it costs.

DonDiego has no illusions that President Trump will perform miracles, . . . let alone free miracles. All DonDiego hopes for is less Government intrusion at a lower cost than The Hillary would've accomplished.

"That Government is best which governs least" is a motto with which Henry David Thoreau opens his pamphlet Civil Disobedience. It sums up poor old DonDiego philosophy better than jes' 'bout anythin'.

Your post made me sad as it illustrates the mortality and futility of man and made me think of Ozymandias. For who shall remember us when we're gone. Our essence forgotten, else whittled down to old pictures and a faded Facebook page. A Wikipedia entry for a select few. Perhaps mention in a history book for those most prominent.

At the top of Trump's agenda is going to be massive, unreconciled tax cuts ala George Bush....and we'll hear how they'll pay for themselves ....and you can bet Hoops will be waiving his pom poms....and 4 years from now Hoops will blame the resulting deficit on Food Stamps.

pj struggles with facts. Revenues went up under President Bush, even though the tax rates went down. The problem was that costs went up faster than revenue

Libs promised a Hillary landslide, and now they're predicting Trump deficits. Interesting. What we know for certain is that the economy sucked under Obama, all the while massive debt was taken on. Usually those two things don't happen at the same time.

Bush went from no deficit to a trillion dollar one...and Hoops waived his pom poms the whole way. Obama cut that deficit in half and Hoops cried bloody murder the whole way. And now its time to grab those pom poms again. Get your talking points in order, Hoops: "Deficits don't matter as long as they are a small fraction of GDP"

Maybe you can explain how "no deficit" still increases our nation's debt? The debt increased every year under Clinton. The only years that the national debt didn't increase during my lifetime was 3 years in the mid to late 1950's.

The debt (and deficits) zoomed even higher after Øbama took office....over $1T per year for 4 of those years. The only reason the deficit was reduced last year was because of a Republican controlled Congress...even with Øbama shutting down the government because Congress didn't want to give him everything he wanted.

if his legacy is already a such a grim one, what exactly is the huge blow?
