Obama Planning to invade Texas and turn WalMarts into FEMA Camps

Last week, I laughed as some progressives in the mainstream media tried to mock Gov. Abbott for telling the Texas State Guard to monitor the Pentagon’s Jade Helm 15 military ops that are occurring this summer in seven states, including California and Texas.

If you haven’t heard about Jade Helm 15, you need to. It is multi-state training mission for special operations soldiers scheduled over an eight-week period in July and August, with most of the activity happening on private property but some public, too. The official website press release from March 24 admits: “While multi-state training exercises such as these are not unique to the military, the size and scope of Jade Helm sets this one apart.”

Gov. Abbot was right in writing Maj. Gen. Gerald Betty, “During the training operation, it is important that Texans know their safety, constitutional rights, private property rights and civil liberties will not be infringed.” Abbott is demanding “regular updates on the progress and safety of the Operation.”

Concerned Texans and Americans are in no way calling into question our brave and courageous men and women in uniform. They are merely following orders. What’s under question are those who are pulling the strings at the top of Jade Helm 15 back in Washington. The U.S. government says, “It’s just a training exercise.” But I’m not sure the term “just” has any reference to reality when the government uses it.

“Well, I’m not trusting what we’re being told,” said Mike Hightower, an affable antique store owner and real-estate agent in the very small town of Smithville, Texas, where some Jade Helm 15 exercises will take place. He added, “I think there’s something a little more involved than what they’re telling us.”

There is no evidence in the cartoon posted by malibber 2 that Governor Abbott, Senator Paul (R-KY), and Senator Cruz (R-TX) think what malibber 2 says they think.

I think there is plenty of evidence. Abbott thinks he needs to send in the State Guard units to monitor the U.S. military. Rand Paul thinks the concerns are serious enough to "take a look" at them. Ted Cruz is so concerned he contacted the Pentagon.

And then there is this breaking news from Congressman Louie Gohmert R:

Over the past few weeks, my office has been inundated with calls referring to the Jade Helm 15 military exercise scheduled to take place between July 15 and September 15, 2015. This military practice has some concerned that the U.S. Army is preparing for modern-day martial law.

Certainly, I can understand these concerns. When leaders within the current administration believe that major threats to the country include those who support the Constitution, are military veterans, or even ‘cling to guns or religion,’ patriotic Americans have reason to be concerned.
What are they going to be practicing? Occupation? Urban warfare? Disaster Assistance? Then, they ought to be training in Baltimore. More realistic conditions.

Except that Governor Abbott could give a shit whether "civil liberties are infringed" in Baltimore. He'd probably favor even more infringement there. Same with DonDiego.

Anyone think these US Military exercises would be welcomed in Left Wing Baltimore more than Right Wing Texas?
Alan I don't think this is an exercise in urban warfare. It seems the military chose these locations for their wide open spaces, variety of terrain and proximity to existing military bases. Is Texas just anti-military when there is a black commander in chief or do they always hate the troops

Well if it's taking place off base, on State owned lands or in public areas, or on private property; the people who live there should be kept informed about activities that might impact them. The State government can help fill that communications role.

You know, large scale military exercises in your backyard can pose various levels of disruption or risk. Like a tank can run over your sheep. Or a 3 mile convey can prevent convenient access to the AM/PM. Or low flying F16's can scare your gerbils.

All the Governor is trying to do is keep his citizens informed and out of harms way throughout the drills. Doesn't that seem like a reasonable and prudent course of action to try to ease any possible damage or disruption? After all, it is one of largest federal military training exercise ever conducted in the State of Texas.

Doesn't it seem like there is a general lack of communication and coordination coming from the Pentagon? How have State Officials been briefed on the details of this? Obviously not very well if Texas finds it necessary to set up their own apparatus to monitor the damn thing. Who's running this show? Obamacare?
