Obama Planning to invade Texas and turn WalMarts into FEMA Camps

Can we please get back on topic and decide what to do with Texas once we take it over. Maybe we could put up a big fence and turn it into a prison colony like Australia.

That sounds like a great idea although I was thinking more along the lines of a nuclear waste dump seeing how they don’t think things like that should be regulated down there. Maybe we could do both.

Apparently I've confused you, which let's face it, isn't hard to do.

Reagan was a right-winger, and his trickle-down economy promise has turned out to be one of the great lies of the twentieth century, hasn't it? But on the subjects of abortion, gay rights, Social Security tax hikes, amnesty, the environment, separation of church and state, and raising the debt ceiling (18 times!), Reagan is practically a leftist compared to just about any of the likely GOP candidates.

Anyone holding Reagan's positions on a host of issues wouldn't even be invited by Fox News to participate in the debates. Does anyone argue that?

The debt ceiling gets raised all the time. How many times has Obama the great raised it? Btw, Carter did his bit on taxing Social Security too.

Trickle down works, yet you on the left thinks that the government creates jobs. Businesses do and they do so BECAUSE of an environment that is beneficial to the bottom line. Forkie likely hasn't been at the corporate level of a business to see the numbers and how stuff works in the REAL world. Reagan's policies set up the framework for businesses to invest and grow their businesses without DC trying to take away more and more of their profits. But Forkie wants ALL the profits to go to crap like the "war" on poverty which doesn't get people out of poverty, but puts them in a deeper hole.

When Reagan started out, the median net worth of the wealthy was 3.4 times that of the middle class. Now it's 6.6.

Looks like trickle-up to me.

When this thread started out, the median intelligence of conservatives was 3.4 times that of progressives. Now it’s 6.6.

Looks to me like progressive IQs are trickling down, while conservative IQs are trickling up.

I suppose I should point out that I have no source for the numbers I just quoted, nor can I precisely define the terms “conservative” and “progressive.”

But, apparently, none of that kind of stuff is required anymore.

Dang, it’s easy to sling shit !!!

Does Forkie KNOW what's in that 70,000+ pages of tax code?

Does Forkie know how to invest his money and pay NO federal taxes on the interest?

How much was Rockefeller was worth back in the 30's and what was the tax rate back then?

First, it's "liberal," not progressive. And by the way, we'd prefer if you call the ACA "Obamacare," but that's another story.

And clcjim, after all this time you should know I never, ever lie. At least I never do on this board; the stakes are way too low. And by the way, I never start political threads either, but that's another story. And of course I can show that middle class wealth has gone into reverse compared with that of the wealthy, according to Pew Research. (See chart below.)

So Reagan was a right-winger, and his trickle-down economics has demonstrably been proven to be a lie. But he would still be too liberal for today's GOP. And if you don't mind, one more by the way: At the time of his presidency, Reagan was one of our less popular presidents according to polls. And clcjim, you know I can prove that too, don't you?

Nice graph, but it seems to show that the greatest distortions of wealth inequality have arisen under the economic policies of the Obama administration, no?
I suggest that Liberals stop worrying that rich people are rich, but instead worry that poor people are getting more poor. The goal should be to grow the pie.
