Obama Planning to invade Texas and turn WalMarts into FEMA Camps

I'll be traveling to Houston sometime within the near future, and I'm prepared to join the fight against Obama's takeover of Texas. If somehow this battle doesn't happen, I'll have my golf clubs with me and will play golf and hang out with friends instead.
Actually, I blame presidents Reagan-GHWBush-Clinton-GWBush-Obama for income inequality. But mostly Reagan, because he started it all by claiming that with trickle-down economics, the middle class and poor would do better when the wealthy paid lower taxes.

That hasn't happened, has it?

I think we should dig up Lenin and Reagan and put them in a joint tomb, as a monument to utterly failed economic theories.
Sometimes "income inequality" comes from laziness. If you sit on your butt, should you have as much income as Warren Buffet or Bill Gates? If you get an education and work hard, I still believe you can go further in America than you can in anywhere else in the world. Heck, that is what Bill Gates and Warren Buffet did, wasn't it?

As for supply side economics, Regan and his advisors (like Milton Friedman) were geniuses who brought more prosperity to more people than anyone else in my lifetime. Lenin - not so much......maybe John Lennon?

Really?

Really - people who go to school, get an education and / or work hard have always moved ahead in America and they still do.

Those who sit on their butt and play X-box - not so much.

Back to your chart - what happened in 1973? Isn't that around the time trade was normalized with China? Hourly compensation in China is 10% or less than America. Since the global labor market is governed primarily by Supply and Demand, a huge supply of low-cost labor in China will slow the growth of hourly compensation around the world. How do people get ahead in this environment? They compete! They learn more, work harder, and the winners get ahead. That is how capitalism works. Socialism is a great idea until you run out of other people's money to spend.

So, a lot of people suddenly got lazy in 1973?

I'm sure computers, the internet, and other technologies had nothing to do with the divergence. It's going to get even worse if you liberals keep passing $15 minimum wage laws. Robots will soon take over the frying and burger flipping duties in LA, SF, and Seattle.

Would you care to cite your source for the chart? As someone wise once said there are lies, damned lies, and statistics.

"Sprinkles are for winners."
