Obama Planning to invade Texas and turn WalMarts into FEMA Camps

The pentagon said in their press release that they received permission from the private landowners in question and the rest of the operation is going to take place on existing military bases or other government owned property. So I wonder how is any of this going to impact them? Everybody it is going to impact has already been told. If you don't want to see convoys don't drive on the interstate. I didn't think the military had to ask permission or inform the public when they transport troops. I'd think that would be a security risk don't you?

Since when it is a governors job to inform citizens of Federal troop movements? Again it is just putting the troops at risk to score some cheap political points with members of your party that believe in fringe conspiracy theories. The real danger is in humoring these nuts and reinforcing their nutty beliefs. It makes it more likely one of them will try and pull a Timothy McVeigh.

Again when has the military ever informed the public of its training missions or troop movements?

But hey if Abbot wants to close all the Wal-Marts in his state because he thinks they have secret underground bunkers full of Chinese troops, I say go for it.

They said that in their 'Press Release' after the dust up. They obviously weren't communicating well with the relevant State Authorities. Keeping the citizenry informed is a far better explanation than 'Obama is Black', but hey...believe what you want. Some people take any opportunity to play the Race Card.

..and straight from Governor Abbott : "We are playing a pivotal role of government and that is to provide information to people who have questions," Abbott told reporters Monday. "Information to people who have questions". How sinister.
Liberals love to discuss the skin color of our president. I prefer to discuss the policy of our president. For a guy who claims to wish to move past the color of one's skin, Mally certainly talks skin color frequently.

Alan I don't think this is an exercise in urban warfare. It seems the military chose these locations for their wide open spaces, variety of terrain and proximity to existing military bases. Is Texas just anti-military when there is a black commander in chief or do they always hate the troops

The "Daisy Cutter" bomb can be felt and heard for 50 miles. Since no one on this site knows if the federal government will be experimenting with this bomb, no one can factually tell us that citizens will not be effected. What concerns citizens is the lack of willingness from Obama and friends to explain what will be happening.

Will Mally what will be happening and why it won't effect citizens?

And its contrary to your earlier post.

The state government is not publishing locale-specific information about the exercise. They are simply monitoring the exercises and making sure nothing nefarious is going on. And there's good reason to believe something nefarious might be going on because a birther-conspiracy-theorist on AM radio said so.

There is no 1-800-number Texas people can call to see how the military's exercise will impact their local neighborhood with any specifics as ALanLeroy would suggest earlier. The state's role is to accommodate paranoid birthers who get their information from paranoid AM radio programs in the state...and reassure them that the Texas guard is watching the evil US military. (IE) They can re-assure callersWal*MArt is still safe to shop at. They cant inform callers if a tank is running through their neighborhood today.

How is this in any way contrary to anything I have posted?

How does pj know what 'information' the State of Texas is planning to 'provide citizens who have questions'?

Because there is no line of communication by which to do that, is there? Please correct me if I'm wrong by backing up your earlier post.

Is there a phone number I can call to see how "Jade Helm" affects my neighborhood today? Is there a Texas-government based website where I can check out today's "Jade Helm" activities in my zip code?

And if not, then isn't the governor's (and your) backpedaling explanation a bunch of BS? Former governor, Rick Perry, certainly thinks so.
For anyone interested, this is the US Special Operations Command slideshow addressing the proposed military exercise: Jade Helm 15

IT'S A TRAINING EXERCISE !

And it seems like it will not involve massive troop movements.

Nonetheless, it is a excellent idea to inform the locals concerning the "training mission" and "troop movements", if any.

DonDiego doesn't know exactly what the participants will be doing. {HEY ! It's special Ops; DonDiego isn't supposed to know!] But training accidents are not unheard of within the military. And mixing military personnel with a civilian population could present additional hazards, . . . especially if the civilians are "surprised" by the appearances/activities of the special forces personnel. One never knows what a pesky, uninformed civilian might do.

DonDiego approves of the State of Texas taking an interest in the proposed activities on its soil and addressing concerns over safety, constitutional rights, private property rights and civil liberties.

Oh, . . . and just in case, . . . the affected Governors pr'bly oughta have some Constitutional lawyers on staff to address any possible violations of the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878 by those wily military folks. One never knows what a pesky, uninformed President might do.

How EXACTLY have I 'backpedaled'.

I said

"the people who live there should be kept informed about activities that might impact them. The State government can help fill that communications role. "

and I said

"All the Governor is trying to do is keep his citizens informed and out of harms way throughout the drills. "

and the Governor of the State of Texas said

""We are playing a pivotal role of government and that is to provide information to people who have questions"

How on God's Green Earth this 'Backpedaling"? Go ahead. Quote me where I said something and then changed it. You do know what 'Backpedaling' is, right? Stop making shit up.

As to HOW Governor Abbott intends to provide information to the people of Texas, I don't know...that's not my job....but why wouldn't he? It's the friggin' Government. They have ways to communicate. Everything from Press Releases to interviews to their Web Site.

And a little better coordination on behalf of the Pentagon wouldn't hurt, would it?
