How on God's Green Earth this 'Backpedaling"? Go ahead. Quote me where I said something and then changed it. You do know what 'Backpedaling' is, right? Stop making shit up.

As to HOW Governor Abbott intends to provide information to the people of Texas, I don't know...that's not my job....but why wouldn't he? It's the friggin' Government. They have ways to communicate. Everything from Press Releases to interviews to their Web Site.

And a little better coordination on behalf of the Pentagon wouldn't hurt, would it?

Precisely!

You've claimed the Texas state government can provide transparency about the operation. But you cant explain how or where people can get that transparent information from. Neither can the Texas governor.
Not very transparent, is it? His (and your) explanation is.

...and from Governor Abbott's directive to the State Guard...

"Directing the State Guard to monitor the Operation will allow Texas to be informed of the details of military personnel movements and training exercise schedules, and it will give us the ability to quickly and effectively communicate with local communities, law enforcement, public safety personnel and citizens."

What's unreasonable about that? Absolutely nothing. Talk about making a mountain out of a sub atomic spec of flea dirt.

OMG!! There's no mention of stopping the Federal Takeover of Texas or preventing Martial Law. He didn't even talk about Wal-Mart. Could it be that he just want this thing to go smoothly by making sure adequate measures are in place to protect Texans? Fancy that.

Precisely what? The damn thing doesn't start for 2 months and PJ's biggest complaint now is he doesn't know how Texas intends to keep its citizens informed? It just seems like PJ is looking for any excuse to attack the Governor of Texas and AlanLeroy. Maybe he should consider backpedaling a little. Or at least stick to the facts.

Since no one on this site knows if the federal government will be experimenting with this bomb, no one can factually tell us that citizens will not be effected. What concerns citizens is the lack of willingness from Obama and friends to explain what will be happening.

Will Mally what will be happening and why it won't effect citizens?

The pentagon said in their press release that they received permission from the private landowners in question and the rest of the operation is going to take place on existing military bases or other government owned property. So I wonder how is any of this going to impact them? Everybody it is going to impact has already been told. If you don't want to see convoys don't drive on the interstate. I didn't think the military had to ask permission or inform the public when they transported troops. I'd think that would be a security risk don't you?

Since when it is a governors job to inform citizens of Federal troop movements? Again it is just putting the troops at risk to score some cheap political points with members of your party that believe in fringe conspiracy theories. The real danger is in humoring these nuts and reinforcing their nutty beliefs. It makes it more likely one of them will try and pull a Timothy McVeigh.

Again when has the military ever informed the public of its training missions or troop movements?

But hey if Abbot wants to close all the Wal-Marts in his state because he thinks they have secret underground bunkers full of Chinese troops, I say go for it.

My windows rattle and the ground shakes from the big artillery shells when they have live fire drills at JB MDL and I'm about 13 miles away. They've just started to announce when this is happening so people don't get alarmed and hunker down in their shelter in place with their Bible, rifle, ammo, Ka-bar, and cans of soup.

It also gives you a chance to secure your gerbils so they don't get scared and run off.

Who's complaining? I'm just asking for clarification of your statements. Both you and the governor of Texas claim there is a line of communication providing information to citizens of Texas about this operation. Neither of you can define what the line of communication is. Things that exist can be pointed to. You cant point to the thing you say exists.

"Deploying state guard to monitor the federal exercise" is not synonymous with "communicating with people about the exercise". The governor has articulated the details of the former. Neither of you can articulate the details of the latter. Both of you try to say those two things are one in the same. Since I speak English I understand they are not....

"Directing the State Guard to monitor the Operation will allow Texas to be informed of the details of military personnel movements and training exercise schedules, and it will give us the ability to quickly and effectively communicate with local communities, law enforcement, public safety personnel and citizens."

This looks like pretty plain English to me. Perhaps PJ needs some help in that area. Let's take this communication business one at a time....

Does PJ doubt that the Governor's Office has the ability to communicate with local communities?
Does PJ doubt that the Governor's Office has the ability to communicate with law enforcement?
Does PJ doubt that the Governor's Office has the ability to communicate with public safety personnel?

Yet PJ doubts that the Governor's Office has the ability to communicate with Texas citizens. Governor Abbott claims the plan they are putting in place will allow them to 'quickly and effectively communicate'. PJ claims Texas has no such plan....because...because...he knows of no such plan.

I think I'll just assume they have plans to communicate like the Governor's order declares rather than PJ's assumption that the Governor is lying.....because he is Republican or whatever reason it is PJ chooses to disbelieve him.

I say this:

"Deploying state guard to monitor the federal exercise" is not synonymous with "communicating with people about the exercise".

AlanLeroy and the governor say this:

We clearly speak different dialects of English.

Alan I don't think this is an exercise in urban warfare. It seems the military chose these locations for their wide open spaces, variety of terrain and proximity to existing military bases. Is Texas just anti-military when there is a black commander in chief or do they always hate the troops

..always with the race card...sigh

Obama and friends have proved to be liars, and once a liar always a liar. There is zero logical reason to trust anything coming from the White House. While this doesn't mean that everything coming from the White House is a lie, it does mean that everything coming from the White House must be considered as a possible lie.

(IE) They can re-assure callersWal*MArt is still safe to shop at. They cant inform callers if a tank is running through their neighborhood today.

How does pj know what 'information' the State of Texas is planning to 'provide citizens who have questions'?

Because there is no line of communication by which to do that, is there? Please correct me if I'm wrong by backing up your earlier post.

Is there a phone number I can call to see how "Jade Helm" affects my neighborhood today? Is there a Texas-government based website where I can check out today's "Jade Helm" activities in my zip code?

And if not, then isn't the governor's (and your) backpedaling explanation a bunch of BS? Former governor, Rick Perry, certainly thinks so.
