Obama touts progress against Islamic State

UH OH, should be expecting another attack soon then. Wasn't that horrible attack in paris(the concert hall, random AK-47 gunmen, and others) that killed 140 something the very next day when Obama spouted off about how well we're doing?

Didn't Germany just have like 6 attacks in a single week recently? Doesn't look like we're(the US, Ger.,, France et. al.) doing that well.

Don't gloat. The US averages about one mass murder a day, and all of those countries are a helluva lot safer than this one.

It is an average of one mass shooting - not mass murder - per day, being defined as when four or more people are shot in the same incident. And yeah, those countries are a still a helluva lot safer than being in the US.

I believe it completely depends what part of the US one is in. If somebody is in east LA or Chicago(where gun laws are very restrictive) that may hold true. I wouldn't walk around there.

Arkansas is one of the most violent states to live in. As is my new home state of Nevada. I'm growing used to seeing people walking their dogs with a sidearm in their holster, or shopping in some stores. Pretty strange how guns are much more prevalent in Nevada than NY , yet NY is so much safer. Ran into a 5 foot woman with two huge German Shepard's at the dog park. She had a cannon on her hip. Dont know what type gun it was but it had a huge barrel. Frankly, I'm amazed she worked up the courage to leave her home.

As an aside, my city, Henderson, is ranked as one of the ten safest cities in America, while Las Vegas-literally a stones throw from the back of my complex , is one of the ten most dangerous. Yet we both have the same gun laws. Go figure.
