Obamacare Collapses In Alaska And Republicans Promptly Bail It Out.

Talk about strange. Republicans have talked for years about the inevitability of the death spiral. Now we have a state where it has failed, and the Republicans are rushing to give a private insurance company a 55 million dollar bailout, so it will continue to do business in the state.

A bill passed by the heavily GOP state Legislature to shore up its lone surviving Obamacare insurer is awaiting the signature of Gov. Bill Walker, a Republican-turned-independent…

What I’m getting — and I guarantee what the Alaska Legislature’s getting — is constituents pleading with them for help," Sen. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) told POLITICO.

The picture became particularly grim in Alaska, where the number of insurers offering plans to individuals is set to drop to one for 2017, and state officials warned that the remaining company couldn't realistically raise rates high enough to cover customers’ medical bills.

Oh, and it is in danger of collapsing in two other states.

Just the beginning of the failing of the BamaCare. Article states that last year alone rates rose 40% for Alaska. And the so called "silver plan" is $950 or so per month! Well Pelosi can now claim that I have yet to read it, but we may have a huge problem!
So how many now of the ObamaCare set up insurance companies have failed to date? I know our's did!
Why is anyone surprised? This Democratic abomination was forced upon the populace by that idiot Obeyme. He is and will go down as the worst President this nation has had the misfortune to be "led" by. All of you who touted his Obeymecare are now nowhere to be heard from - I guess you finally got the message when your monthly insurance premiums arrived. How do you like paying for all of the freeloaders who work the system for medical care that you pay for?
I wonder how Forky will try and spin this one? I don't think any Kaiser Foundation crap will cut it on this one.

I am STILL waiting for any/ all of those who lauded Obeymecare to respond to this topic - all of you were so vocal at it's inception - why won't you comment now?
I'm guessing your beef is because your reimbursement rates went down and you have to work harder. And I know rates never went up before Obamacare. Nor did plans change requiring doctor changes etc. Or is that just an oversimplification of life? I would be interested in hearing any alternative plans that would accomplish the same goal. What do you have?
We were promised we could keep our doctor - DIDN'T Happen

We were promised a savings of $2,500 = DIDN'T happen

We were promised low cost exchanges - MOST HAVE GONE OUT OF BUSINESS, & THOSE HAVE SURVIVED ARE EXPENSIVE

Oh I'll just agree with you and Donald (at one time) that we should have a single payer system, a Medicare buy-in for everyone. But meanwhile, a higher percentage of Americans are insured than ever in history. And one small (population wise) state is down to only one insurer. I'm seeing more pluses than minuses.
Forkie, why not be accurate and concise. You will be happy when another wealth redistribution program is fully implemented.
