I have been a constant critic of Obamacare since I first learned the details of how it was going to work before it passed. Other than the working poor, that qualify for Medicaid under the expansion, everyone takes it up the poop shoot with Obamacare. So you give someone that makes 25k a year insurance for s $140 a month. It is worthless to them because they can’t afford to use it. They are better off keeping the $140 a month even though the government is kicking in say 4xx.xx a month in additional premiums for them, because they have a 6k upfront deductible and an actual yearly out of pocket of around 30k if they develop an illness or suffer a serious injury.

The program was designed not to fail, but to benefit insurance companies, big hospitals and the pharmaceutical companies by keeping the game going.

Now here is the kicker Obamacare has already death spiraled in Alaska and is danger of doing so is several other states, but this is what conservatives need to understand. Republicans are not going to let Obamacare fail despite what they proclaim. The Republicans in Alaska had a chance to do so, and they didn’t. Instead they infused it with 55 million dollars in state taxpayer funds despite the fact the state was already running a deficit, and will have to infuse it by an expanding amount every year. Why? Because they looked at it, and realized their only other option was for the State of Alaska to become the single payer insurer of their residents.

Here is another little nugget most of you don’t know. Part of the reason the sickest people are on Obamacare is because the hospitals will literally fill out the enrollment forms for you if you show up there without insurance.

A family of four with a $55,000 income gets a 66% subsidy of their premium. The only thing accurate about motownbob's post was probably the part about taking it up the poop shoot.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.
forkie,

I know some people who would like that program. Where can they get it....what are the deductibles? You know, in your words, what's your source?

The Kaiser Family Foundation Health Insurance Marketplace Calculator. It's the Silver program, and even the morons know what that means.

They would also have a $12,500 deductible with an additional $12,500 in co-insurance. Plus a whole variety of prescription drugs that weren't covered at all.
Forkie, who is paying for these subsidies? Is the money coming from the pool of money generated by massive Obamacare cost savings as you promised us?

Since the CBO says that repealing Obamacare would actually increase the deficit, I think the answer to that question is obvious.
If we had never passed the law that 60% of the country didn't want we would have saved billion

Reference, please.

It is difficult to know how the deficit would rise/fall without knowing if all provisions, including expenses and revenue generators, are counted appropriately. The Congressional Budget Office just does the computations that it is requested to perform as directed.

DonDiego is curious if the deficit increase is impacted by the presumed repeal of the Obamacare provisions for an additional 0.9% Medicare tax and the 3.8% levy on investment income. If Obamacare were gone this alone would save the targeted taxpayers $1.2 trillion over 10 years.

***EDITED TO ADD***
Oh, . . . and what are the assumptions in the analysis which concludes the deficit will increase. F'rinstance, how does that conclusion apply if enough insurers just quit the program because they cannot make a profit and the choices available to the consumers become extremely limited?
