Beelze, I'm only too familiar with the cost of medical care...................having 10 knee surgeries all on my left knee (2 full knee replacements, 2 full ACL reconstructions, 2 scopes, and 4 microfracture surgeries). Let's not forget the spinal fusion surgery in late 2014. I can play to a 10 handicap, so I'm doing fine.
What I'm saying is that insurance is expensive, and people need to understand and prepare for this expense once they reach adulthood. Money doesn't magically appear to pay for the medical expenses of one who hasn't who hasn't prepared. Some man, woman, or company must pay these expenses.
Be careful what you wish for. For every expense you toss on the back of the rich guy, or the rich corporation, the more quicky American assets move overseas. The more that you tax companies, the more American companies you'll find closing up and taking the jobs elsewhere. This is not a myth, but instead a fact. We've been chasing away American investments for decades, and those with open minds and observant eyes understand this.
There's no magic pill, and every action causes a reaction.

Cancer treatments can run 50k or more. A heart attack costs about $38,000 for the first 90 days of treatment. A knee replacement averages $30k, and a hip replacement about $40K.
The average US salary is $53,657
Sure. Everyone should just pay their own way.
