Obamacare Update

"Insurers have been pounding the drum about problems with ObamaCare pricing.
The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association released a widely publicized report last month that said new enrollees under ObamaCare had 22 percent higher medical costs than people who received coverage from employers.
A report from McKinsey & Company found that in the individual market, which includes the ObamaCare marketplaces, insurers lost money in 41 states in 2014, and were only profitable in 9 states.

“We continue to have serious concerns about the sustainability of the public exchanges,” Mark Bertolini, the CEO of Aetna, said in February.
The Aetna CEO noted concerns about the “risk pool,” which refers to the balance of healthy and sick enrollees in a plan. The makeup of the ObamaCare risk pools has been sicker and costlier than insurers hoped.

The clearest remedy for the losses is for insurers to raise premiums, perhaps by large amounts — something Republicans have long warned would happen under the healthcare law, known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA)."

Oh goodness ! ! ! Who could've sen this coming ? ? ?
Umm, . . . poor old DonDiego did.
A stunning development, considering we were promised a $2,500 reduction
Anyone remember this from DonDiego last year:

For some reason DonDiego never followed up with the actual rate increase: 3.6%
blue cross blue shield profits and stock price have both skyrocketed since the job killing healthcare law was put into place.....but insurance companies like to cry about how they aren't making money off the people who are in most need of healthcare. And that should give you a good glimpse of the disposition of the scumbags that run health insurance companies.

Anthem executives can cry me a river about how their record profits could be even higher if they could somehow stiffarm the people most in need of their care. And DonDiego can cry along with them. Ill do my best to give a crap.

If Obama care is soooo profitable why did United Healthcare recently announce that they are dropping Obama care coverage in some states ? Bob

Because they want to get in on the death panels?

Apparently the elected congressmen and senators are smarter than we thought, since they decided not to use Obeymecare. Who would of figured????
I've never known the Motley Fool to be particularly biased to the left or right. I found this article about the Gov. forecasting to be enlightening.

I don't think so, I'm pretty sure they're beholden to the cost saving, premium reducing law as everyone else. And yes, they are paying the ever increasing exorbitant deductions as well. Too bad the law is so flawed, there are actually some good aspects of it.

I remember a few on here that kept citing the CBO projections as almost gospel but of course they were way...way off(as projected by a few on here). You're correct, TMF isn't biased in any way or at least I've never sensed that and I've read a lot of Motley fool articles, my mom even bought me one of their books.
