Obamacare vs The Supreme Court - Round 2

I hope that Malibber's paragraph one here comes true. There will be no mess to fix. Take care of yourselves, people. No more free stuff is coming from Washington.

The Gruber tapes certainly makes the court case more interesting. I hope the conservatives on the court invalidate the subsides for the federal exchange. It would cause widespread anarchy and millions of people to lose their health care coverage. Numerous hospitals across the country would probably go bankrupt. Conservatives will be in charges of both parts of congress so it will fall upon them to fix the mess.

It will be interesting to see what they come up with. Maybe another expensive and unpaid for program like their past expansion of Medicare or perhaps they will be so paralyzed by their own base that they will be able to do nothing and allow the ongoing anarchy during their tenure. Which would allow the Democratic 2016 presidential nominee to ride in like a white knight and offer to fix the mess made out of the healthcare system by conservatives.

For conservatives it is the age old problem of you break it you buy it. I can guarantee you the two most unhappy people in DC if this thing gets invalidated are going to be Mitch Mc Connell and John Boehner.

First thing that will happen to them is that they are going to get gang raped by lobbyists from the insurance industry, the hospitals and the pharmaceutical companies demanding they fix this mess immediately and that their fix contain even fatter payouts to them than Obamacare gave them.

Oh and the court doesn't have [to] repeal the whole thing simply ruling the subsides invalid instantly kills non-employer provided insurance in 36 out of the 50 states.
If The Obamacare Law explicitly states the subsidies are available only through State Exchanges, . . . and if the corroborating contemporaneous evidence supplied by Professor Gruber makes it certain that that is what the drafters of the statute intended (to coerce States to form State Exchanges), . . . what would malibber2 have the Supreme Court do?

The fundamental problem is not the Republican opposition.
The real problem is those who drafted The Obamacare Law knew for sure it was good, and the right thing to do, and would be beneficial to everyone, . . . or maybe only to those on the receiving end of the calculated wealth transfer, but thats good enough for Government work.
And they knew for sure that even though it was so good people might still reject it, so they made it mandatory.
And they knew for sure without a doubt that every State should establish a State Exchange, but some might not want to, so they tried to coerce the States by withholding subsidies from purchasers in States without an Exchange. But some States just refused to behave as the drafters of the Statute wanted them to anyway.

"It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so."
__ Mark Twain

The entirety of The Obamacare is the responsibility of the Democrat Caucuses in both Houses of Congress which passed the Law and the Obama Administration which implemented the Law.

DonDiego requests malibber2 supply the Republican "fault" in any of the above.

There are a million reasons why all hell will break loose if the GOP gets their way by repealing Obamacare but I only need to point to one......The medicare prescription drug donut hole.

Every medicated senior (even the hateful, anti-Obama ones that pretend like they hate the law) will see an out-of-pocket charge for their drugs that will add thousands of dollars to their spending budget overnight. You want a recipe for political apocalypse? There you go.

There's a little devil inside of me that secretly is rooting for the critics in this challenge. I cant think of anything more entertaining than watching Mitch McConnell at a town hall with a 100k of freshly uninsured constituents. And the fact that those same constituents overwhelmingly voted against Obama because of the very law they hate...but at the same time they're pissed cause its repealed...? Well you get the idea. Its would be excellent TV if nothing else.

..but it aint gonna happen ...so the little angel inside of me can rest easy

Does PJ personally KNOW of anyone who is part of that donut hole?

I do and mom pays quite a bit for her meds until the coverage picks up again. So Please DO tell me about this and that coverage, I really would LOVE to hear how Obama made things better for my mom. Please tell me how Barry is paying the $4k a month for my moms well being when Obama care isn't?
My dad falls in that donut hole category also.

If your mom is paying more than $2850 for her medications this year then Barry is paying for the rest. and that out of pocket amount reduces each year until vanishing completely in 2020.

You can compare that to the $4500 she would pay out of pocket with Obamacare repealed.

I presume you can do the math.
Proof once again that Democrats makes stuff free for voters! It's magic.

To summarize obamacare

1- it was supposed to reduce medical costs - it didn't
2- it was supposed to reduce insurance costs - it didn't
3- you cold keep your doctor - you can't
4- you could keep your insurnace - you can't
5- it was supposed to make the health care process simpler - it didnt
6- it did add millions in new medicaid recipients; increasing the costs to the states

Doesn't sound like a success

More gruber gems have surfaced

"The dirty secret in Massachusetts is the feds paid for our bill, okay?" he said. "In Massachusetts we had a very powerful senator you may know named Ted Kennedy. ... Ted Kennedy and smart people in Massachusetts had basically figured out a way to sort of rip off the feds for about 400 million dollars a year."

And another gem

Gruber in 2011 mocked a critic during a Vermont House committee hearing examining a publicly financed health program. At the hearing, a lawmaker read aloud one comment that warned of "ballooning costs" and "bureaucratic outrages."

As the hearing participants began to laugh, Gruber said: "Was this written by my adolescent children by any chance?"
One more example of government magically making free stuff.

I demand that Americans have the right to free food, free automobiles, free vacations, free insurance, free beer, free Obamaphones and, best of all all, reimbursement of all gambling loses plus interest. After all, these casino's, like America's lending institutions, are employing predatory practices.

Free everything for all Americans!
