Obama's Parting Gift to Taxpayers

The Government Accountability Office has released a report blasting the Education Department's understanding of basic mathematics and accounting concepts after finding the department drastically underestimated the costs of Obama's student loan forgiveness programs. Taxpayers are on the hook for $137BN of student loans to be forgiven over the coming years as a result of Obama's executive action.



Ahh, . . . now DonDiego remembers; The Obama once said: "I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone. And I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions that move the ball forward in helping to make sure our kids are getting the best education possible."

Apparently, "the best education possible" was insufficient to instill any sense of responsibility in those who fail to repay their loans.
The least they can do is say: "Thanks, Obama !"

Since billryan deems it OK that Obeyme has forgiven $137 Bn in student loans, I am sure billryan will have no problem being the first to donate his fair share to the creditors. I am curious to see if his alligator mouth is equal to his hummingbird ass...
When the loans are taken, it is understood if you work in public service they will be forgiven. I suppose you also object to his improvements on the GI Bill?
Does the Dr have a problem subsidizing our police and firemen? Teachers, nurses or other social workers?
Or does he just enjoy typing with one hand while spouting out juvenile insults?
By the way, the amount forgiven is 108 billion. Did you never learn to read a pie chart?

It's quite obvious you have no clue what the forgiveness program entails.

I did not see the pi chart, I took DonDiego's number from his post. Secondly, I don't believe that those who got their loans forgiven because they work in public service owe anywhere near the total of $137 billion. Now, dispute that.
It might help if you looked at the charts or maybe read the article.
$108 billion dollars in student loans will be forgiven over a twenty years plus period. The loans are forgiven if you work in a very specific job category. Police, fire, ems, teaching, nursing and a few other public service jobs. The number is low compared to the benefits the post 2001 military is giving to qualified service members.
Of the $352 billion in the program, it's estimated.that far less than ten percent of the loans will be discharged for failure to pay. Roughly $108 billion is being forgiven for working a period in public service jobs.
