Oct 5th thru 10th TR

First time Trip Report.........so here goes!

Left Indianapolis very early (non-stop on SWA) and arrived in Las Vegas about 7:30 A.M. Picked up our car and headed to Whole Foods for a bagel and tea and to make additional plans for the day.

This trip we had 3 definite plans to accomplish..
1. had tickets for Lionel Richie for Saturday night
2. wanted to go to Hemenway Park in Boulder City to see the Big Horned Sheep
3. wanted to find JinJu Chocolates (thanks Westie) to taste some of their treats.

We were able to get all 3 things done. Lionel Richie put on a great show, the sheep (about 15 showed up) were pretty cool to see, and the chocolates were good and also found out that they make chocolates for some of the larger hotels in town. Very interesting place.

We stayed at the new Marriott Residence Inn south of the airport. Just opened up about a month ago. Good location to the freeway so traveling about was pretty easy.

Gambling wins were few and far between, so nothing to report there.
I LOVE a non-stop flight. It adds a measure of pleasure to Vegas trips.
I LOVE Lionel Richie. What a voice, and piano too.
Gambling wins...what is that? LOL.
A record short TR for a 5 day trip. Glad you got all your objectives met!
Thanks for reporting.
"Just the facts,Ma'am".

You got there at 7:30 AM and slept on the air craft.
That's a good idea,if you can sleep.
Didn't stay in a casino/hotel and I guess that wasn't important.
See the sights and eating chocolate sounds good!
I think that I'll pack a chocolate bar in my carry on.
O.K.........a few more details may be in order.
We do buy SWA early boarding passes. If we can't get exit row seating, then we get isle seats across for each other. I try to stay somewhere between being asleep and awake. I call it "airplane mode" for me.
We rented a car from Advantage. Toyota Prius has a odd little gear shift lever and a "beep, beep, beep sound when put into reverse. It was good on gas mileage however is it only took 5.5 gallons to top off the tank on return.
Although we've been to Las Vegas probably over 50 times, we've stayed at the M Resort the past 4 years. We felt a change was in order. We could get a 1 bdm. suite for less than a room at M's. Plus there was no price increase for Friday and Saturday nights.
Listed below are places we ate:
The Veg Deli at M's
Maranelli's Pasta Plates at M's
Café at Southpoint
P.F. Chang's at Planet Hollywood
Winchell's on Warm Springs Rd. x 2
Mc Donalds
Hotdog Cart at Southpoint
All breakfasts were at the hotel

We have photos of the sheep on our cell phones, but don't know how to transfer them to here.
Lionel Richie show was great...show lasted about 1 hr. 50 minutes and he was only off stage about 5 minutes. If you like that kind of music... get tickets quickly and go!!
Left Las Vegas early P.M. and flew to PHX and the on to Indy arriving about 35 minutes early.

WOW! You drove around a lot. Would you buy a Prius? I know that they are a bit weird and you still have to do oil changes on that little engine.
Photos.
I use Photobucket but a lot of members on my other forums have switched to Imgur:IMGUR
Thank you.
No I would not....it's just not my type of car that I'd want to use full time.
