Hey There
Just a quick report on my last trip, going to break it into sections so hopefully wont ramble too much.
Flights
Flew Virgin from Manchester direct to Vegas – Outbound was great on a new refurbed plane – Inbound was on an old plane without the refurb and terrible. Food was poor both ways.
Got Presidential Limo to collect us from the airport and once again perfect service on time and with the extras we had requested. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these people.
2 Hr wait at US Immegration queue was horrendous to say the least.
Hotel
There were 3 of us on this trip and our host at the Luxor comped us a week in a Tower Luxury Suite with Adjoining Queen room. Rooms were decent, clean and spacious so happy with that. And its hard to pick fault when they are free.
Tower suites now have in room safes which were not there last year and this is a real bonus. Had one malfunction but room service picked it up pretty quick.
On a down note the casino at the Luxor is looking really tired and sadly so are the staff. I found it a really difficult place to enjoy our gambling as there was just so little staff / customer interaction. In truth it was bad enough that I wont return to the Luxor next year. We spent most of our daytime in Aria or Cosmo gambling and loved it in both Casinos. Staff were superb and friendly and then we returned to the Luxor in the evening and the contrast was stark.
It’s a shame as the Luxor has been a good home to us for the past few years whenever I have been in Vegas with the boys but now I think we would have to look to make base at Aria. I’m sure we wont be getting free suites at our level of play like we do at the Luxor but for the extra money I think it will be worthwhile.
Gambling
Played a lot of Pai Gow this trip. Ended up pretty much even on the week but paid for everything outta this including presents for back home so must have won a decent bit.
Had a couple of notable good days – Straight Flush with $25 on the bonus at Aria paid $1250 and turned a $200 dollar buy in into $1200 on 4 occasions.
Hit a royal flush on $10 deuces wild for $1250
Played roulette at the Luxor one evening whilst on a heavy losing streak. Bought in for $100 and bet the majority in single bets on the middle third. Missed.
Put the remaining chips on 17 and 22. Sure enough 22 hit winning me about $300 and change. Put the $100 chip in my pocket and chucked the rest back on the middle section. Backed 22 and 17 real heavy again. Ball bounces outta 17 and into 22 for the double up. Won approx. $1100 from the spin. Tipped the dealer coloured up the chips and left. Happy 3 spins.
Casinos
Aria – loved it here. Great Casino and good vibe and excellent drinks service.
Cosmo – as above but with better drinks service. Really enjoyed it here and decided to spend our last night in town here even though we were comped at an MGM property.
Paris – again always enjoy gambling here and it didn’t disappoint again. Good staff and friendly prompt drink service.
Encore – 1st time here – staff were excellent especially the pit bosses who took a lot of time to really try and sell the resort but in a good way if that makes sense. My only observation would be that Wynn/Encore are top end old style casinos where as Aria/Cosmo are much newer and fresher.
Still a great place to be.
Luxor - Really disappointed with what was my home base. Poor unfriendly staff to be honest everyone just looks tired and bored of being there which is not the atmosphere you want.
Food
Burger Bar @ Mandalay Place – great as always – think this is one of the best burger spots in vegas if you want to spend a few $$
Mon Ami Gabi – Ate here several times this trip – food good every time and only a couple of minutes wait for breakfast on the terrace. I think this is my favourite spot for breakfast in Vegas.
Tender @ Luxor – Great Steak and service – never lets us down.
Wicked Spoon @ Cosmo – really enjoyed this buffet and it had a good selection. Minimal lines to get in and good food.
Wynn Buffet – Again good but not quite as good as Cosmo
Cheers for Reading Everyone.
