Ode to a Defunct Thread

So, like, poor old DonDiego was composing a post for the thread concerning old folks surviving in spite of perceived unhealthful habits which transmogrified into a hate-fest on copyright infringement and repetitive personal invective.
And he goes to post it, . . . and the thread is gone! Well, here's his post anyway.

For the record DonDiego tried to get this thread back on track yesterday. [Only yesterday? It seems so long ago.]

The topic is interesting and open to both serious and frivolous comments. Or the poster may choose to poison it, . . . inject venom as anthony suggests.
[Once again anthony shows his great wisdom and immense forbearance on the Las Vegas Advisor.]

Here's a thought. Consider online fora like real conversation with real people. [DonDiego is for all practicable purposes venom-free in real life, . . . and 90%+ free of venom online. The reader is invited to analyze himself.]
If one would not carry on a real-life conversation as one carries on an online conversation, one should knock it off. DonDiego recognizes the "freedom" online conversations grant, because there's seldom any real-life consequences from one's misbehavior. But one should still KNOCK IT OFF!

If the seemingly venom-full posters on this thread do, in fact, behave this way in real life, . . . DonDiego has only pity for them and their miserable existence.

[DonDiego is still waiting for alanleroyII to call Chilcoot a "Poo Poo Head". That should end the thread.]

n.b. DonDiego hopes everyone noted the reference to anthony's great wisdom and immense forbearance.

Simple threads over Easter & the 50's were wrecked by the same 2 people, whose only goal is to spit venom
Getting the thread back on track? Hmmm - I'm looking for the part that has something to do with living a longer life.

There's lots of people on here that dont always behave. And there's lots of "hometown refs" here that only call out the misbehaving folks they view as their opponents. I tend not to get too upset by people who fit either profile. Life's too short. And Its the cost of interacting with the anonymous community on the internet IMO

Pessimists live longer healthier lives. To judge by his various impending disaster posts, I'd say this is very good news for DonDiego.
Don Diego has already proposed a solution to much of the venom at LVA.

Unfortunately, that did not work out.

Yes, . . . DonDiego read this a few days ago and thought it accurate and very good news for himself. But there in the fine print the study suggests optimists are less susceptible to death from heart disease.

Way back in 2011 DonDiego experienced an acute problem in his digestive system which required a brief hospitalization. The attending physician upon examining the image from some sort of miracle-scan-machine inquired of DonDiego when had he had his heart attack. Well, . . . DonDiego has never had a heart attack. It seems a portion of DonDiego's heart is not receiving adequate blood flow, . . . just as if he had had a heart attack.

So the coincidence of poor old DonDiego having a damaged heart [but doesn't everyone who has lived life have a damaged heart?] and such a condition being lethal to pessimists is somewhat alarming. Nonetheless, it is not sufficiently alarming to impel DonDiego to "exercise more, lose weight, . . . or eat a better diet to ward off disease", as the referenced article suggests pessimists usually respond.

Oh, . . . DonDiego thanks forkushV for making this thread more about DonDiego.

I assumed that controversial would filled of stories regarding old cretins in the Himalayas eating yoghurt and avoided it. I miss all the fun.

DonDiego is quite the instigator, though. The online equilavent of a real life person who would say a few well chosen words to ignite a brawl at a bar or sporting event, just to stand back and enjoy the show.
