OFF Strip Hotel SUggestions

Another vote for M Resort.
GOLDEN NUGGET, DOWN TOWN, GREAT POOL. A CLASSIC LAS VEGAS HOTEL.
I think you're missing the the Silverton on your list. It has a newly remodeled pool with cabanas that can be had for a reasonable price. They have very good restaurants with reasonable prices. Their coffee shop is one of the best in town, and their steak and eggs are great and a fair price. You really have to be a big eater to finish most of their dishes. They even serve two types of French toast. The "normal" one and another with a crunchy outside. The whole hotel serves Starbucks coffee, even at the bars. Their other restaurants include a Mexican restaurant, and Twin Creeks which is their gourmet restaurant.

They have a wonderful buffet, which is really good on Friday and Saturday nights. They also have a great brunch on Sat. and Sunday.

As far as the rooms go, they have started to remodel some of the rooms on the first floor. But if money isn't important, I'd upgrade to a suite, where you'll have plenty of room and a great large jacuzzi tub. The shower has nozzles that can hit you from 3 directions.

Have to run, but I'll fill you in on more later.
Haven't stayed at any of the others on your list, but highly recommend the M. Going back for the second stay there in May.

Thank PJ...I forgot about the Rampart Marriott (I get industry discount from them)...this may be a choice. I do liek to eat Brats - but notlike to noise the "other" kind of Brats cause and all that screaming and running around.

Well looks like it is M or Southpoint with a later entry from Rampart Marriott.

We went to M once it opened, and it reminded us of another Red Rock style (which I like but GF didn't).
I think with her being a "foodie", that will be deciding factor.

Thanks for all your imput.

We are going in 2 weeks for a 3 night stay, using my marriott points at Cosmo and will report back then and take pictures of the stuff we want to see (sorry none of me naked - that would close this board down)
Of your hotel list, M Resort would be my first choice. South Point is nice, but it's not a luxury resort -- M is.

I agree M is waaay nicer than the South Point. GVR and Red Rock are better than South Point too. My 2 cents.
I'd go M or GVR over Southpoint. But since I visit all 3 fairly often, I'd probably opt for Aliante (likely the lowest priced of the 3). Then again I live here,,,, as a tourist, money aside, I think I'd book the M.
Thanks for all the input.

I am pushing towards the M - but GF wants GVR (she is the big slot player)...so you guess where we are going

You Guessed it GVR - Hey I want a good time in the room too.

Still working on M - hopefully I can get some decent rates to tip the scales in my favor.

Remind her that Top Chef season 6 was filmed at the M resort.
