Off to Vegas on March 1

The business portion of my trip will be a little less exciting than your business trips to Vegas, I suspect. Business breakfast at 7:30, on the floor by 9am, business lunch, then back to the floor. This all followed by a business dinner. Back to the room by 9pm to catch up on emails. Rinse and repeat for day two. No drinking, no gaming, no fun.

Day three, I'm no vacation, but I'll still have 4 hours of stuff to catch up on. I'm not complaining, but I'm there to work hard. Day 3 will include my first hand of blackjack.

Going to Las Vegas for business is the best of both worlds! I travel to Las Vegas once a year to work at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. My travel expenses and lodging are covered on a corporate expense account and I receive a decent salary for working at the track!

There's no doubt my business trips to Las Vegas are enjoyable. The events that I work at LVMS are 3-day events. My boss gambles, so it isn't unusual for us to hit a casino or two to play a little after we leave the track.

While I do a lot of work when I'm at the track, I love my job. I literally get paid to watch fast cars!

I hope you have a successful business trip and a lot of fun on Friday night.

I'm surprised Southwest isn't your best choice out of Minneapolis
Thanks Mushy, it should be a good business trip. Per your suggestion, on Friday I'll hit it hard in an effort to make up for the first two days of work and sobriety.

I like your thinking regarding Southwest, however they offer no nonstop flights. Hopefully they'll add a Vegas flight sometime soon.

One of my best friends drags his rail, we used to go hang in the pits with him at old dominion Speedway. Twice a year all the vw guys gathered to race in the " bug out"s. I put a sheet of plywood on top of my ladder rack, best redneck viewing platform ever. Good times.

Weird, not only triple but my reply a no show
So this is what Vegas looks like sober!

I had a very busy day yesterday, leaving home at 5am for an early flight. Spent the day at the Mandalay Bay Convention center, followed by an early dinner Gallagher's Steakhouse here at NYNY. My boss got a big bone in ribeye, which included salad and a side for $80. I got the "catch of the day", which I believe comes from the Bellagio fountain, for $42. This included risotto..............both the fish and the risotto were wonderful. My boss's side, which we split, where giant fries (twice the thickness of a dill pickle spear, and one inch longer), with seasonings and a hard cheese sprinkled on top. Unfortunately. this had some funky, almost plastic taste to it. His steak was good, from what I understand. I had a good, but not great, breakfast this morning at Il Fornaio. I chatted with a nice couple from Florida.

I'm all caught up on my emails, since I woke at my normal 5am Minnesota time (3am Vegas time). The convention doesn't fire back up until 11am, so I'm free to goof around until my boss and I have a 9:30am meeting prior the show.

In 25 hours, my business is done, and I'll have the balance of the day and night to have fun.
