OK I'm cheap and need help.

I've been going to the vegas nascar race since 2002. I usually stay at a Harrahs property mid strip. For the most part I've enjoyed something about everywhere we stayed. I've been shopping and I have about 4 choices in the same price range.

Terribles
Hooters
Orleans
Circus

I realize the bellagio and Aria are superier resorts. Like stated in the title I'm cheap and I sleep very little during my stays. I rent a car, but obviously it is nice walking place to place. Any other cheapos out there who may have some expertise?
I think Terribles is just fine. Not fancy or anything, more of a locals place, but the food in the coffee shop is plentiful and good and the beds are very comfortable. I like their pool area as well.

The Orleans is very nice. Large rooms and lots to do there. Again, I find the food in the coffee shop good. I think they are offering a steak and lobster dinner for $7.11 this month. Their buffet is one of my favourites as well.

I haven't been to Hooters and it was about 15 years ago that I stayed at Circus Circus and didn't care for it then.
I like the Orleans. The rooms are big, clean, and cheap. The restaurants I've tried there were good but I don't remember the names of them. From one cheapskate to another, give them a try. You won't be disappointed.
DonDiego concurs. Of the four hotels listed he'd opt for the Orleans, if he had a rental car.

Cheapo Vegas gives the straight skinny on all the Las Vegas properties for the thrifty.

I've stayed at all four and the Orleans would be my first choice.

If you want a change of scenery while staying there without having to drive, they have free shuttles to and from the Gold Coast (Rio and Palms across the street) and Bill's right on the strip.
I always stay at the orleans!

1)Orleans
2)Terribles
3)Circus Circus
4)Hooters
Have you considered Sam's Town?I know they sponser the Saturday race at the track. And I'll bet they would have a shuttle to the track in case you want to have a cocktail or two.
I say Orleans too. And you can go bowling.
The Orleans has a good package that includes a room, tickets, and bus transportation to/from the track.
So does Sam's Town, as a previous poster has mentioned.
Plus, package deals at South Point and Suncoast are worth investigating.
Hey Now!
Sam's is much closer to the track-
better VP too..
Terrible's has Ziggy's Bar!
