OKay, I have to ask it!

He is still around, posting under the name Chilcoot. I saw a post from him on the paid side, dated Oct. 24th. So unless he has 2 accounts, he is not clarkvegas.

I have noticed his absence as well and kind of miss him. Always good for a couple minutes of entertainment between the quality of the forum, Westie's post'.
I enjoy the interaction that he causes. It is a mirror of our society's political understanding and keeps me grounded as to why things are as they are despite the glaringly obvious solution. (After all, I could solve the worlds problems if you would just let me.)
And you know, despite being overly obnoxious, he is almost always right. I certainly do not agree with his point of view but he is certainly intelligent and gets his supporting evidence lined up. (Of course, ask any MBA, you can make statistics say anything you want. If folks don't agree, use more charts.)

Was away, back now, I've never posted under another name but if people need to believe that feel free.

Oh, come on jatki, you have to admit he was entertaining. In a strange way he reminded me so much of a very good friend of mine who drove everyone nuts at my fire station. No matter what the subject he seemed to take the road less traveled and he had enough balls to stand up in a room of 30 people who opposed his view and go toe to toe with all 30 of them.

I've been on the free side of this board, off and on, for a little over 10 years.

Whether or not you agree with the posts and banter, at least he/she is intelligent and can put forth a well-organized argument. I think the conversations on here are much more cogent and intellectual than they used to be.

Which, kinda makes me miss the old days where 4-5 people would be shitfaced and posting on here on a Friday night.

jatki99 actually convinced himself that he's so important to me that I'd actually create a different account just so he could publicly acknowledge reading what I post.

I guess he means it as a weird compliment. Kind of like the way Jodie Foster was once weirdly complimented by another guy with a strange fixation.

Well, I am glad to see Chilcoot back. I have a soft spot for opinionated, argumentative people of all stripes (being a mellow introvert myself) so his strongly-held thoughts don't faze me that much. Neither does anybody else's, for that matter. An airing of opinions is a good thing, especially when backed up by sound arguments and facts. And as the saying goes, "The fight not joined is the fight not enjoyed."

Oh I can take all the differing opinions that abound, hell it's what makes the world go 'round and be a balnced place. I take all differing opinions and jabs back and forth with a grin, it's the net after all.But when someone shows up and just totally shits on purely innocent threads started by good people who aren't looking for net BS or a guy asking about "freemont" gets made fun of with asshole responses because he spelled it fremont, I just decided I preferred to not read anymore of that bullshit. I have to say it was pretty hard to actually hit the ignore button but I liken it if I'm at a cocktail party and some one is acting like a total jerk, I have the option of not listening to him anymore.
