Old TITOs/Expired dates

Shame on me . I was cleaning my wallet out and came across a $40.00 TITO . It was from the South Point
Casino. April 20th 2010. It expired 60 days after that.
I will be back there on April 15th . Is there anything to be gained by showing them the ticket .
You'll never know if you don't ask. You may need to see a manager at the cage, but it's worth a try.
I have playing there for the past 4 years . It is my favorite . I figure maybe some comps . Worth a try .
Sue i posted on your thread . Giving Alliante a shot in the spring.
Each property is different in the way it "handles" expired TITO's, etc. The "I'm stupid I forgot I had it" approach at the cage, and polite chat with management should get it resolved. IF they are willing to check their computer records.

Be certain to emphasize you're there to play and it did not work in the machine. "Why?", "What?", etc. It's going to probably boil down to a "customer service" sort of issue by the slot manager or cashier manager.

Good luck.

Thanks Road trip I do get comped on my rooms . They are aware of my play . I think it might help.
I'd be shocked if they don't cash it. Tell them up front as you hand it to them that it was from a previous trip and it's expired, be very polite and "stupid me" about it and I'm sure they'll give you the money for it.

I'll be dumb about it . Just tell them "I'm not smarter than a fifth grader" LOL

I don't think its necessary to play dumb. Just play nice. I once cashed in an expired ticket for over 100 bucks at a local indian casino. My grandma had forgotten about it and was just going to throw it away. I gave them her players card and told them she was in the restaurant but couldn't walk too far and they cashed it with no problems. I did need to sign a form but that's it.

Edited to add: My grandma's ticket wasn't a year old. It was maybe expired by a month. Good luck.
Thanks everybody. I had no intention of throwing it out . But I think after reading some of the posts here I have a very good chance of getting it cashed .
Another thing. I usually come home with no money from my annual trip . I just told the wife last year I came home with $40.00 . ( Thats if they cash the ticket) First time in 12 years .

My wife asks me "why do you keep going to Vegas if you lose every year ."

My answer is " I was building it 12 years ago and now I'm renovating it."
Unless you run into a real A$$ supervisor on that shift, I can not imagine them not cashing it. I encourage you to cash it as early as possible, before even playing. Since you're comped up front, if they "cop and attitude", so can you. :::shrug:::

I just can not imagine them not cashing it, even if expired. Worse case, they should "settle" for the equivalent amount in FSP as a good will gesture if they are unable to verify the TITO identifier in their computer archives for some reason or other.

And while you're talking with the supervisor, don't forget to ask for a meal comp.
