On/near strip for 21st birthday

DonDiego has stayed on the Strip at:
Riviera
Westward, Ho !
Stardust
New Frontier
Desert Inn
Sands
Castaways
Dunes
Aladdin
Hacienda

Unfortunately he cannot recommend any of them, as they no longer exist except in DonDiego's memories, . . . and those are fading fast.
If he could recommend one it'd be the Desert Inn, as classy a joint as has ever been on The Strip.
My wife actually suggested I take a solo trip down to Vegas to establish myself at one of the strip casinos, and get a free/discounted rate for that March 2017 trip. I should probably take her up on that, huh?

Planet Hollywood, Flamingo is nice but it takes an hour to check in I you are not Platinum or higher, the Linq is really cool now too. I would think she would like the out-door bands and linq walkway.

There is no downside.

So if I did that, what would be a property where I could reasonably expect to get a comped room or at least a good rate? Tropicana? I play VP (fast) usually multi-line .25 sometimes 6-7 hours a day.
My traditional 21st birthday gift to near, and not so near, relatives is an all inclusive trip to Vegas (sans gambling money). I make them do their own research and choose their hotel with minimal suggestions from an "Old Uncle".
Most choices have been Caesar's or MGM. This could be from influence from previous family member's trips and subsequent stories.
The latest trip was by a great nephew and 3 friends last Sept. They chose the Luxor as they were led to believe that it was a "Gay" friendly party hotspot. Afterwards they decided it was no more Gay friendly than any other popular strip resort.
The most popular consideration, in season, has been the "Day club/Pool Party" scene. Wet republic at MGM seems to be the overall favorite. The Girls trend toward Caesar's with TI a distant second. I believe they prefer the night scene.
THE CC would be a good choice, not the best.It is on the strip, not crazy price. Sorry about the UP YOURS resort fee.
Excalibur. Same attitude.
Not knowing about gay friendly,The Luxor?
Go cheap or go expensive. It ain't cheap on the STRIP,anyway.
Either way,she will be BLOWN AWAY by the lights and stuff that always goings on on the strip.
Sorry about the card flashers/Boobies.
Maybe a sight of the Mirage volcano, for fun. First time?
I didn't read enough.

The youngsters hangovers are short-lived. Turn her loose.
She will make some memories.

I envy her anticipation.
Her experiences.
CAMERA!

I try to share my experiences on this forum.
NEVER a shit-hole trip!
Some white guy having fun.

You could pretty easily make Diamond at CET in two - three days with the way they are doing their tier bonuses. You'd have your pick of any CET property. I think your Diamond status would be good until the end of 2017 and you get other benefits too....Like no resort fees, a 100 dining voucher, some free shows and separate check in lines. I'm sure people here who are Diamond can help you out on this if you're interested in it.

Here is a discussion of how that spring bonus works. Note you have to 'activate it'.

Spring Tier Bonus
I'd jump all over the 'pre-trip' your wife suggested, great idea(for you). Very cool of her.

I have to agree with the strip crowd, first timers should definitely be on the strip. I'm thinking back the first time we walked onto LV blvd from the Maxim and it was like a whole new world opened up, simply mesmerizing. Maybe do a room on the strip for part and downtown for the rest, she'd get a taste of both Vegas's. The grandeur of the strip and then the crazy, party atmosphere of Fremont st.

btw my wife has same B-day as your daughter, not really worth mentioning but I already did. Hope she has a great 21st.
Hey thanks for those last couple of posts. Very helpful. I'm kind of leaning toward MGM because of the location and the reasonable (relatively speaking) price. Also I'm obsession over MyVegas rewards at the moment....
