In my former career, I was always away on Election Day. The two biggest trade shows of the year almost always fell that week, either Vegas or Atlantic City, so I signed up for getting absentee ballots sent to me. This week, I got my ballot for the upcoming Presidential primary, the first contested one on the Republican side since I was old enough to vote.
Now,I participated in the Nevada caucus in February, based on the fact I had a signed lease and was going to be there for the November election, so I wasn't sure if I'd be eligible to vote again in NY. I scanned the rules and didn't see anything against it, so I called my Election Board.
I spoke to three people and they all thought I could vote here.
What I'm going to do is send in my ballot, with a note explaining the above. If they count it, great. If they don't , they will know I wasn't trying to pull a fraud. The gist of what they said was you can vote once in each election, and these are considered two separate ballots.
