Well, I went to pick up the car today, and on the way down we had to stop at the hospital for Faye to get a blood test before we left. Easy 15 minute in and out and we continued down to the Avis office. Avis couldn't get us our usual Lincoln MK-S, but they came up with other options like a Lincoln MK-Z, a BMW cross over, or a Chrysler 300. I told them we'd wait until we got down there to see which one was the easiest for Faye to get in and out of. We also needed lots of room for all the nonsense that Faye would be bringing along for her daughter and grandchildren. I told her we were only bring one large suitcase this time as I'm tired of bringing all kinds of clothes and not using them. Besides, this isn't going to be one of those trips where we keep on staying over for another three days or more. We're coming back next Thursday come hell or high water....unless of course Lady Luck finds a way to grace us with a monster jackpot!

So I finally decide that the Lincoln MK Z is what we're going to travel in to Vegas. It almost has enough room as the MK S and it was easy for Faye to get in or out.

Wind up getting home around 5 pm and wouldn't you know it her doctor's office calls. Seems her blood test shows her potassium level is extremely LOW this time ! WTF!!! So now she has to travel down to La Jolla tomorrow morning to get some potassium mixture and have her blood work done again, and then wait 1 hour for the results to come back. So much for leaving at 10 am. The worst part is that the longer we delay, the heavier the traffic builds up going to Vegas. We are about 1 hours drive from where I-10 meets I-15 so we start to mingle with the traffic heading to Vegas from the LA area. Hopefully, the dog sitter will take her to the hospital while I finish packing the car, and they leave for the hospital at 6 am so we still can get a fairly early start.
