Orleans Casino opens two new restaurants

The Orleans Casino has finally opened up their two new restaurants.

Alder & Birch Steakhouse (offers a daily $5,$6,$7,$8 Happy Hour)

Ondori Asian Kitchen

They both look really nice and are very modern and sleek. We enjoyed the Happy Hour at the Steakhouse. The food was great and the service was excellent. We look forward to returning and also trying the Ondori Asian Kitchen.

The Orleans also updated their sportsbook and some other large televisions around the casino as well as updating the carpet in halllways and updating some of their rooms.
I looked at the menu for Alder and Birch about a week ago and it looked decent. Gotta say though that I'll miss the Canal Street. I had many great meals there and introduced it to numerous friends. I also recommended it to many LV travelers without one complaint. I know change in LV is inevitable, but if Boyd tries to do anything with Billy Bob's, they've got a big problem on their hands!

Good Luck!

Agreed. We always enjoyed Canal Street. The new restaurant has great food but the modern atmosphere feels more like you are at the Cosmo than the Orleans. We are fine with that but others may miss the old school feel of Canal Street.

The Canal Street always reminded me of a greasy spoon restaurant. Food was OK, service good. I look forward to seeing how the Adler and Birch adds up.

I always thought the Orleans was the "flagship" of the Boyd hotels. You're right about one thing Joe, they better not touch Billy Bobs. I thought it was great when theyclosed the coffee shop and used BB's for breakfast, Best steak and eggs I ever had!
You're right on Billy Bobs...that would end my multi-year quarterly visits to Sams. Mentioned that to my Sams host, who happens to be the GM.
I'll really miss Canal Street.
Rock'n Rita and I have eaten there many times with many friends.
We have so many special memories from there, especially with my best friend.
Now both are gone.

As for Billy Bob's .....
I think it's built up to be much more than it is,
and to me, barely qualifies as a steak house.
I think it more of as a bar, ..... with a very dark dining room that serves steaks.
just my opinion

I was about to chime in that billy bob's (I mean a steakhouse named after a Back woods guy. Lol) did nothing for me. If canal street at Orleans is the one in the back by the check in, I was also not overly impressed. I went to both on a comp and while both were "fine", neither made any list or return business from me. I do appreciate a good steak and usually like either classic business places or old school places that continue to get it right. Miss the range at harrahs and surprisingly like the one at edge water in Laughlin. Circus circus was very nice as well.
westie posted his weekly restaurant reviews and Alder and Birch did not get a very warm review.
